Trump tweeted that his fuel economy proposal would make cars safer, criticizing “foolish executives” for making a side deal with California. Internal EPA emails showed staffers were worried his rollback would kill more people. https://t.co/PDZ4soXfj7— Vox (@voxdotcom) August 21, 2019

When people tells me that Republicans like Trump are good for the economy and also that they’re against Central Planning: ....better off without them. The vast amounts of money made and stolen by China from the United States, year after year, for decades, will and must STOP. Our great American companies are hereby ordered to immediately start looking for an alternative to China, including bringing..— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 23, 2019 ....your companies HOME and making your products in the USA. I will be responding to China’s Tariffs this afternoon. This is a GREAT opportunity for the United States. Also, I am ordering all carriers, including Fed Ex, Amazon, UPS and the Post Office, to SEARCH FOR & REFUSE,....— Donald J. Our Economy, because of our gains in the last 2 1/2 years, is MUCH larger than that of China. We will keep it that way!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 23, 2019 [/QUOTE]
On the downside RGB is undergoing cancer treatment. Pray Trump doesn’t get to nominate another SC judge.
Hey @realDonaldTrump, the Dow actually dropped over 623 points today. Also, @sethmoulton served in combat & received a bronze star. You received fake deferments because of your daddy. In other words, Rep Moulton remains a hero. And you remain a frickin coward.#FridayThoughts https://t.co/C2YUdm3F2h— Ted Lieu (@tedlieu) August 23, 2019

I'm sure David Koch loved his grandkids or whatever, but the reality is that he and his greedy generation in Big Business and politics set the world on fire from Alaska to the Amazon, and now they won't be around to watch the flames consume the rest of us— Will Bunch (@Will_Bunch) August 23, 2019

Hats off to Timbers and Sounders fans: Confused by the library-esque silence in the first half of tonight's Timbers game, or the eruption of cheers later? Here's all you need to know: https://t.co/bZNIHT9YZh #AUnitedFront #RCTID #EBFG #PORvSEA— Caitlin Murray (@caitlinmurr) August 24, 2019 Not sure if this will translate to video, but a *very* noticeably different vibe here in the stadium without the Timbers Army or Emerald City Supporters cheering. It's quiet, and... not that exciting. #RCTID #EBFG #aunitedfront #porvsea pic.twitter.com/QDEYkO1qW6— Caitlin Murray (@caitlinmurr) August 24, 2019 The change in sound was so powerful it legitimately gave me cheers. The stadium is sure rocking now. #RCTID #EBFG #PORvSEA pic.twitter.com/ScFBbS8fS5— Caitlin Murray (@caitlinmurr) August 24, 2019
It worked for me earlier but not now. Anyways, here is what was going on, in a gist: “It was a silent protest aimed at a new policy introduced by Major League Soccer this season that says that any signs the fans display at games cannot be political. As part of that policy, MLS has specifically banned the Iron Front logo, which the league and fans disagree about the meaning of. The logo was initially adopted in the 1930s by an anti-Nazi paramilitary group, and fans say it represents an opposition to fascism, but the league says it has been associated with organized political groups. The 33rd minute was chosen to end the silence because the Nazi government banned the Iron Front in 1933. Once the clock reached 33:01, Timbers fans erupted into a rendition of their regular chant based on the Italian protest song “Bella Ciao” and resumed their normal festive activities, including drum-beating and flag-waving.”
