You yourself answered your questions. You will take the usual security check before flying. Without border guards and without customs.
If you’re flights aren’t booked on a single ticket then you’re effectively flying twice. You’ll collect your bags off the belt, proceed through customs, and then make your way to arrivals as if you had just turned up to the airport.
If your inbound international flight is delayed though, you will potentially be in trouble with flights booked on separate tickets.
Someone who has taken a free train so far, us it the same system as the stadium? Name on FanID and ticket does not need to match?
Guys do you think that Aeroexpress + Metro to Izmaylovo is a simple enough option for a 60+ yo lady. She's well traveled, reads and speaks some Russian and will only have hand luggage. I think it should be pretty straight forward.
I remember reading on Aeroexpress website that you get a maximum of 2 free rides total with a Moscow match ticket - starting the day before match,
Friends - I have been in Moscow for two days. The atmosphere is great. If you are basing yourselves here you might want to have a look at this bike rental service. https://velobike.ru/en/ I have signed up for a month for 700 RUB. With a 20 clip card on the metro for a similar amount, think I have the bulk of my within-city transport sorted (am here for 12 days in total). Also - a Russia friend of mine advised me to download the yandex map app. It works offline, unlike the maps system on the iPhone.
Just a word of warning to anyone traveling through Moscow - do not underestimate the crowd lines at the airport! I very, very nearly missed my flight to Kaliningrad had a friendly airport worker not escorted me to some priority desk. It took a lot longer than expected to get the airportexpress (it's almost an hour between departure and when you'll finally get to the airport and they leave every 30 mins), and then the lines were just horrendous. Be safe and treat a domestic flight like an international one time wise. Also, if you have a Moscow match ticket, the airport Express is free on the day of, before, and after the game. Be sure to let them know and show your ticket when going to the ticket booth. You still need a printed ticket for the train, but it's free.
Anyone have any advice for booking train travel on the official RZD website? There no longer is an option that shows foreign document when entering passenger information, so I'm stuck
I think ID DOCUMENT is the option. Cause when I change to russian and do translation it shows up as FOREIGN DOCUMENT in the translated Russian version.
Demedevo... but I think it is applicable everywhere. I'm travelling with only carry on and will print my boarding pass at the hostel from now on
Thanks Romka. Did the route today and she should be fine. Lot of helpful people everywhere too. P.S. Free tains are pretty good. Nice and comfortable and there's wifi too although it tends to disappear but it's far less often than mobile signal. It gets a bit loud during the day but everyone is asleep already.
What's the situation if a hotel won't register you for free? They are charging 500 rubles per person. Are we obliged to pay it by russian law or are they obliged to register us with or without payment?
Everywhere I'm staying at including through FIFA require additional payment. I believe it is on us to pay.
One of my hotels charged me and other didn't. I have no confirmation that I was registered so it is probably somewhere in the system I assume. A group of 4 traveling but only 2 of us registering at each city, hopefully no issues leaving the country.
So I landed in Moscow SVO early this morning and Aeroflot appears to have lost/misplaced my girlfriend’s checked bag. Hopefully it will be recovered but quite the damper to begin our visit. I would recommend proceeding to baggage claim ASAP upon arriving from a flight. Between using the restrooms and her having to pick up a new fan ID (due to new passport) we were a bit late getting to baggage claim and nearly all bags were gone. Really hoping the bag wasn’t swiped.
Yesterday I registered my brother at my private home, and didn't pay anything, at a place called "my document" I'd say it's the same for anyone who is staying at a private residence, if the host doesn't register their visitor the host can get into bigger trouble than the visitor. https://waytorussia.net/RussianVisa/Registration.html "Also, one important thing to know is that because it's the responsibility of the accommodating party to register your visa, they will get in even more trouble than you would because of not registering your visa. If it's a hotel, they won't only be fined, but may lose their license. If it's a host, they will be fined too and in case they're renting an apartment they might also be prosecuted for tax evasion or something like this. So it's in their interests to register your visa and avoid any problems with authorities." The above is about knowing your rights, if he host is asking for silly money they are just trying to make a quick buck.
Must be hotel by hotel basis. My Moscow one is charging and the voucher doesn't mention it is included. The website of my St Petersburg one lists the cost prior to booking. It's only like 5 USD.
I'm on a free train from Moscow to Nizhny tomorrow night. Only problem is it leaves St petersburg and I cant find any information anywhere on what time it stops in Moscow at. Does anybody know how?
Guys, as a travel option you can always rent a car with a driver so he can get you from one city to another for a match (it appears to be even cheaper than air tickets 0_o ). I have these contacts +7 (926) 578-29-34 for whatsapp. But i am sure there are should be more people proposing such services.
