I came across the concept of a travel sim. Basically a sim card for your phone that you can purchase abroad, and it gives you data for your time abroad. Is anyone doing this. If yes, which company are you using? Is it better to buy a domestic sim card in Russia?
fwiw my friend is there now and likes the city very much. Unfortunately I won't make it this time, would have loved to be in and out of the stadium at the same time
Sorry for the cross post...but putting this one here. Anyone looked at, or booked, one of these? Aeroexpress: Free train from Moscow airports to city center. https://aeroexpress.ru/en/aero/press/news20101355.html
^^yeah, should be pretty straight forward: go to the counter, show match ticket + Fan ID and you get the free ticket. I will use it once in about 2 weeks.
Maybe this question doesn't belong here... but I'm not sure where else to ask? Is there laundry services in Russia? A store where you drop off your dirty laundry and they wash it and dry and fold it for you. Not fancy clothes like ... Dry Cleaners here in the US. Thanks!
Just flew into Azerbaijan... 13 hour transit before getting into Moscow tomorrow. One flight down, just 11 more to go... hope they all run as smoothly as this one.
Can you remind me if this is correct (match refers to the match one has a ticket for): Airport train (aeroexpress): Free the day before a match, the day of the match, and the day after the match Metro/bus/intra-city trains (within the city): free only de day of the match Intercity trains (to other cities): Free the day before a match, the day of the match, and the day after the match Bullet train (Sapsan): not free
Just an FYI I read on their website that transportation regarding moscow (including Aeroexpress and Moscow Metro) require a moscow match ticket.
Guys I have a question related to AIRBNB, it’s my first time so I’m confused. What will happen if I book a 6 day stay at a place and only stay 3 days? Will I get a refund for the other 3 days?
It's up to the owner, if they are very kind and have someone else ready to replace you for those 3 days they might give you some money back. But that does not happen. If you leave after 3 days, it's on you and you lose the money.
You should see which cancellation policy (strict or flexible) and how many days before arrival. To resolve this issue, contact support on the airbnb website.
Not sure if it’s previously been mentioned here, but the app Citymapper has both St Petersburg and Moscow modes that cover all forms of transport, metro, bus, taxi or on foot. I don’t know how popular the app is outside London actually, but it’s a god send for searching out the quickest way from A to B and I would bet that it’s way better than any Yandex app.
Yes I just used my Russia v Saudi ticket to get a free ride from the airport to Moscow the day b4 but u must show the Moscow ticket. Can confirm about the day after on the 15th...
Forgive the somewhat silly question, as I think I've done this before. I'm getting an international flight to Moscow. Then a few hours later a domestic flight to Kazan. Upon arrival to Moscow I clear security, get my bags then make my way to the domestic check in counters right? My flights aren't connected so I figure that's the correct process. Some reassurance would be awesome!
