Former Georgetown Hoya Mike Banner, who played for a while in Brazil, has resurfaced in the States playing college ball. Credit to Sandon Mibut for sending along the link. Looks like an injury forced Adam Skumawitz to retire, more or less: Adam Skumawitz has an impressive soccer resume. The 1997 Fallbrook grad starred at Cornell University, leading the Ivy League in goals his senior season. He then led the Verbandsliga, one of Germany's top amateur leagues, in scoring and earned a contract with Aalesund in the Tippeligaen ---- Norway's premier league ---- before a back injury derailed his career. Despite that impressive backgound, Skumawitz's playing career was not the main reason Temecula Valley athletic director Stan Ford hired him to coach the Golden Bears girls soccer team this season. Hi, this is Jason Gargan. Good news about my team: WE WON THE WHOLE THING! Reynir Sandgerði was promoted to division II and is one of the favorites to be a top team (and even promote again). Bad luck in the past has kept them down. There is even rumors about the coach being looked at possibly being the National team coach (He's a form Nats player himself). His name is Gunnar Oddson. One of the practices we had late in the season, the entire National management crew was there watching how we practice. It was quite neat. I, however, finished the season injured. I had a bad collision on a break away and had a lot of internal bleeding in my leg. I couldn't play for a whole month, because whenever I started playing again, it would start bleeding and turn my leg purple. As for me, I'm back in the States. I'm going to do my Masters Degree at Bellevue University in Nebraska and if I get time, try out for the college team. With a family (3 kids) to support, my dream may be over. I'll tell you what though... it was worth it. That was one the best experiences. I'll never forget getting into a game in the Faroe Islands against a team called VB. If that was that clubs 100 year anniversary and they invited us to play them. They were leading 6-1 when they put me in (yes, I was the backup keeper). The whole Island of Suduroy was there! When I got in the game, I got a large applause and it really pumped me up. Not 5 minutes in they had a break away and when he shot it, I could almost hear the whole crowd go quiet and sigh as I saved it, and then cheer for the entertaining shot and save. That was probably the highlight of my playing career. I got to play in a few games, but that just felt like the biggest. We stayed for a whole week and played 2 matches, the other match was against TB. We had large Viking Feasts and Faroe beer every night. Anyway, it was an honor to be on the list last year, regretfully, I cannot be on the list this year as much as I would like to. Thanks for all the people that remained interested in my season. Thanks to Dave for keeping updated on me. Thanks to the Big Soccer community for putting this together and keeping it up. I don't post much, but I do visit at least monthly and read the threads. Maybe I'll get another chance later in life...
Hey... Stumbled over this "Yanks Abroad" forum, n' didn't see my name anywhere... I'm Jamil Fearrington, born in 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark. My dad, Norman Fearrington (former drummer, played with big names as David Bowie and Tina Turner) is from Philadelphia. I was raised in Copenhagen as well. I'm currently contracted to FC Copenhagen. I've played a single game for the danish U-18 team and 6 games for the U-19 team. I do have dual citizenship, so capping for the US national team one day would be possible.

Have they been capped by another nation??? Or are our MLSers better than them??? Or might it be that Brucey is more comfortable with the MLSers being close to him???
