So by saying Inter are not going to park the bus in the final, that equates to me fellating Mourinho? That's some fantastic logic and reasoning right there

I didn't take any swipes at the Bundesliga, or German football in general. I'm just stating my opinion that is based on Inter's performances this season. It's good to know I can count on Gustav for a mature discussion. Grow up.

Seriously anybody who thinks we are going to park the bus in the final is gravely mistaken. One game against Barca away and we are labelled an "ultra defensive" team. Go back and watch both the games against Chelsea. Mourinho adapts his tactics to suit the opponent and all due respect to Bayern they are not on the same level as Barca or Chelsea.

Yes, they're obviously better, because they are in the final while Barca and Chelsea are not.

    Just a joke. ;)

We all know, that Inter are slight favourites.

Inter needs to win in regular time for Italy to keep the 4th CL spot.

No, a win after 120 minutes is enough.

If Inter wins in PSO, Germany will get the third spot anyway. In all other cases, the CL winner will get the 3rd spot.

Interesting. I did not know about this extra dimension to the final until I stumbled on this thread.

Certainly gives a lot of neutral fans a significant stake in this match.

Key word being WIN.... a PSO win is technically considered a draw according to FIFA. So, as people have mentioned, Inter need to WIN (whether in 90 min or 120 min). If Bayern win or if it goes to PKs (regardless of the PK winner), Germany take the 4th spot.

I looked at this & wondered how San Marino accomplished .250 points. So I went to Wikipedia & found that a San Marino club actually got a draw against Irish side Drogheda United in 2007-08 UEFA Cup. Oh the dangers of playing someone when you have nothing to gain:eek:. Not that Irish clubs shouldn't be playing San Marino in European competition.

Why does everyone thing that Inter are a defensive team? Mourinho changes his tactics to suit his opponent. Nobody walks into Barcelona and plays full out attack, maybe Arsenal but look what happened...haha

Just some goal numbers to throw around in terms of discussing if Inter is "defensive" or not. I don't think they play "negative." They will let Bayern possess the ball and play dangerously on the counter. Much like they did against Chelsea and in the first leg of Barcelona. And those 3 matches were very exciting, so it should be a good one.

    Last 10 played:

    Bayern goals scored 27
    Bayern goals against 8

    Inter goals scored 20
    Inter goals against 8

Goals per game in Bundesliga and Serie A:

    Bayern goals per game: 2.1
    Bayern conceded per game: 0.9

    Inter goals per game: 2.0
    Inter conceded per game: 0.9

    Looks just about the same.

Marienburg, good observations. But, statistics don't always paint the full picture. A team can play defensive but can score many goals off counterattacks and still be, in fact, a defensive team. This is not to say that I think Inter are a defensive team but just that statistics alone can't reflect a team's attacking-ness.

That still won't make them top 3: Seria A, EPL & La Ligua are by far the best...then comes the Bundesliga.

To me I would rather win a CL Cup once every third year and be anywhere in the UEFA coefficient list..;)

u r obviously shortsighted. i dun mind u guys winning the CL once every 3 years and we get the 4th spot for CL. the 4th CL spot will make the league stronger.

btw though u guys won the CL, the inter team looks more weaken than it is strengthen.

Yes, Inter is such an outstanding Italian team. You could especially tell they represent Italy so well by having 0 Italians in their starting line-up.
