    He screwed up.

If he had played a 4-3-3 in the first 2 matches, Germany would have had a much bigger chance to finish in the top two, IMO.

The tactics were fine in the first match against Italy. Can't believe the outcome would've been better with a 4-3-3. That was just brutal luck and nervous kids in their first big tourney.

Jannes Horn began by explaining how that win over Austria had lifted spirits and moods, "Since the victory we are feeling a lot better."

He continued, "We have put ourselves in a position where we have the chance to win a playoff, and we can definitely build on that performance."

The youngster admitted he was hoping to turn things around at the break, saying he "played well defensively" but felt "there was room for improvement" in terms of attacking.

Unlike Henrichs before the Austria tussle, Horn believes there will be no rivalry on Thursday: "It will be a hotly-contested game, but there is nothing more than that involved."

Finally, the left-back thanked the fans for their "exceptional" support, adding that they have "really enjoyed playing in front of such great crowds".

    Predicted line-ups

Germany under-19: (4-1-2-1-2) Müller; Neumann, Gül, Gimber, Horn; Henrichs; Conde, Serdar; Ochs; Serra, Teuchert.

Netherlands under-19: (4-3-3) Van Osch; Zeefuik, Rosario, Ter Avest, Verdonk; Schuurman, Duarte, Nouri; Bergwijn, Lammers, Paal.

That sucks. Serra is being carried off on a stretcher. It looked innocuous. Not sure how he got hurt there. Teuchert got injured in the first half. Reese got injured in the previous match and couldn't play today.

The Dutch just equalised with their first shot. Awful goalkeeping from Mueller. He is our third choice goalkeeper (the first two are injured) so we shouldnt be expecting too much from him.

    What the ******** was that?!

    3-3

    Our goalkeeper is absolutely useless.

3 chances for Netherlands, 3 goals.

What an incredible miss by Iyoha in the 120th minute ! Kirsten should never hype him up again

Great shot from distance by Henrichs beforehand, unfortunately hitting the crossbar.

barely qualified sheesh, we need so much improvement in attack, we dominate every game but we don't have the finishing and scoring against us seems too easy...

Germany made life very difficult for themselves. It's incredible to dominate so much and not win.
Mittelstädt missed a fantastic chance in the 24th minute. Besuschkow squandered a great opportunity midway through the second half and then Iyoha with a horrific miss in the 119/120th min.
The free-kick that led to Holland's first goal shouldn't have been awarded. Nevertheless, our keeper should have saved the shot. It was straight at him. The other two goals came from long balls(and the free-kick for the first goal also came after a long ball).

We need to improve big time.

Damn, 6 goals altogether and a penalty shootout. Sounds like I missed a thriller. Definitely lots to take away and learn from for this team. But I guess a win is a win. Just hope that the injuries to those players aren't serious and they can get back to their respective training camps in preparation for next season.

For me this was the most amazing match from our u19 in this whole tournament.Every player knew his role on the pitch and especially in the CM Henrichs and Conde were very impressive.Henrichs/Conde is 100 times better than Henrichs/Fechner.It's like they knew eachother for years. This combo is extremely unpredictable because both of them can dictate the game unless Fechner. So in the recent matches our opponents just had to take out Henrichs out of the game, but when Henrichs was marked today,we had the second great playmaker with Conde. The CMs completely dominated this game and I can hardly remember one of our chances where none of them were involved.
Our defence was actually very good today but they made two unbelievable mistakes which were punished with two goals. But like I said apart from that they had good perfomances and even their built up play looked improved, thanks to Horn who becomes the next Mesut Özil,if he continues to make those amazing assists.:D
    No comment about our GK.
But I'm also a little bit disappointed because I'm thinking about how far we could make it in this euro with todays formation and a little bit more luck against Italy..

According to the Eurosport commentator and dfb.de, it was Mittelstädt who made that great through ball for the first goal. He also assisted Mehlem's goal.

It seems that Horn and Mittelstädt are both capable of producing great deliveries.
