Learnt from Bierhoff that Rudy most likely needs a little surgery. But everybody who had more than just a little nosejob knows what that means. You feel uncomfortable and unsafe for weeks. Even with painkillers and a mask, the first ellbow or back of the head flying around your nose will make you hide back. Your point of view is limited as well as you ability to sprint (hurts badly, believe me you probably can't breathe through nose as well). What may work in a setup for club football 2 or 3 weeks after such an injury but with a well oiled club team supporting the injured player, I just can't see Rudy playing in this crucial game. I had a similar, probably a bit worse injury of nose and stayed 10 days at the hospital. Couldn't breathe through nose for a week due to surgery. Couldn't turn my head or even smile without bleeding out of nose again. I'd rather see Goretzka or Özil playing.
it is shame if he miss the rest of the tournament, he is really the best partner for Kroos, whenever I see them playing together, they always dominate the midefield. For some strange reasons, Kroos and Rudy just have the chemistry which other players Goretzka, Guangdoan don't have
So suddenly Low's squad selection is looking pretty stupid If Rudy is out, there is no other defensively minded midfielder in the squad. Khedira is the only other guy who can play as genuine 8 for a double pivot type system but can he be relied on? Or Can goretzka be trusted with that role? Gundo is a much more offensively minded 8 - suited to a 3. But luckily Low has large numbers of attacking midfielders at his disposal
Kroos will have to play at 6 with 2CMs ahead of him if Rudy is out for 2 weeks If Khedira isn't up to it then I guess Goretzka is coming in
In his last 9 tournament games, Thomas Müller has played 870 minutes, has 1 assist and has scored 0 goals. Imagine if he was Turkish, played for Arsenal and had eyes that made it look like he'd just woken up. https://t.co/VHjsDevipF— Oscar (@Reunewal) June 25, 2018
Rudiger definitely not, never play in holding midfielder. Sule might be, but I am not convinice he can play better in that role than Rudy, Kroos needs someone who can do some dirty defense work for him, but also a good passer and decent ball distributor, Rudy is best suit for that role
As Honigstein indicates, the "real football men" have never liked Low and this team Remember that in 2012 these same people claimed the leaders of the team like Schweini, Ozil, Mueller, Poldolski and Lahm were a generation of losers
http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...mels-trainiert-wieder-rudy-pausiert-wohl.html Hummels is training fully again and should be able to play. Rudy will be reassessed again on Wednesday by the team doctors if he's able to play with a mask on. The decisive factor will be whether game time would cause any further health risks. Rudy is doubtful for the South Korea match and probably won't play, but don't think it's serious enough to cause him to be out for weeks. Likeliest scenario I see Jogi going with is Gündogan starting in his place. But I wouldn't mind seeing Goretzka getting a chance to start. If needed, Ginter could also be another option for more of a holding defensive presence who I think is more suitable than Rüdiger or Süle as DM.
they better do not make the same mistake in the first match again, underestimating the difficulty of the task and opponent's determination. beating S Korea by 2 goal is never a easy task. need to treat it as a final and give it all
I doubt very much "dead frog" is widely held view, it is personal attack, anyone with decency should not have this view, by the way, Ozil was part of the team won the world cup for Germany 4 years ago, he did make contribution both during the qualification and the final..so regardless what happen this time, he deserves respect nothing else from the German public. people having this view should be shame of themselves
For those who can't be bothered to look it up, here's an explanation of group scenarios in English: http://www.espn.com/soccer/fifa-wor...mutations-who-can-qualify-for-the-round-of-16 This is one of the more complicated groups because of how few goals have been scored. But the bottom line is if Germany wants to have full control of their destiny in terms of qualifying for the KO stages, they need to win by two goals. By winning by two goals, Germany's goal differential would best whoever they're tied with because no one else has won a game with a two-goal cushion yet. Anything less than winning by two goals, Germany's progress would be based on how the Mexico/Sweden match plays out. But there are so many "what ifs" involved that you'll have to consult the link.
Lol dude whatever. They threw bananas at Kahn during his playing days. Im still waiting for that criminal code paragraph btw. Your lesson in what you think is good morale at least will not suffice
Not that anyone could not be expected to make up the meaning of the table included in post 1 in a Germany forum.
Werner caused a lot of problems for Sweden in the second half playing on the left side. I am hoping Muller does not start.
I missed this but it is very good on the spacing issues and explains why Germany can't counter press properly 6 reasons why Mexico upset Germany: @BundesPL https://t.co/VjoupqVxQh #DieMannschaft— Bundesliga FANatic (@Bundesliga4u) June 25, 2018
Forgot to add a poll to the thread: Who should start vs South Korea? a, Berome Joateng b, guy who went rubbing it into Swedish bank c, sack of potatoes You decide!
