could be a chance for Baak but wouldn't be surprised if Lustenberger is ahead and Baak is a sub option.

lol Musiala's name has been erased from the current dfb page. Replaced by Stuttgart's Davino Knappe. This is what the 2nd or 3rd time, he gets called up and then gets erased.....

seriously like I've been saying for long while, kid doesn't want to play for Germany. Even if he's born in Germany to a German mother and 1st played in Germany in terms of club football. And seems like he went to England after being scouted from Germany too, had plenty of offers and choose Chelsea.Became eligible for England after living there long enough.

oh well can't force anyone to want to play. If he wants to play for his adoptive country that's his choice. Would rather players want to represent Germany.

not sure what to say when Glatzel who's lived his whole life in England seems to be the only German-Brit that's keen on Germany from the get go. But the ones who come from Germany seem to prefer England. Seems likely Musiala will be capped by England next year and unless he gets a change of heart like L.Nmecha he'll be an English player.

hopefully Sidi Sane or whoever else can step up and take his spot on German NT for 03 age group.

Czyborra has now played over 1000 min in Eredivisie, add the Dutch Cup and he's almost at 1200 min in his 1st season post U19. How much would Schalke have played him had he stayed there? 1-2 games tops. At least he's a starter in Eredivisie.

today they beat Europe competitor Vitesse 3-2. Would be interesting for him if he gets game time in Europe next season.

while Akkaynak-Willem II and Chabot/Handwerker-Groningen are just outside the EL playoff spots. Still shame that Akkaynak can't seem to even get some game time, all because of Christmas shenanigans. Although ex German international Avdijaj seems to have gotten it worse.

also anyone has any idea why Bapoh at Twente lost his relevance there?

what a nice ball from J.Eggestein to his bro M.Eggestein (assister) to then Kruse who scores to make it 1-0 vs Bayer Leverkusen.
    https://streamja.com/LGp1

so far so good for the Eggestein bros.

J.Eggestein once again difference maker, once again heavily involved in the build up to the 2-0.
    https://streamja.com/Xlvr

he's the player who's back is to goal and goes by 2 players, gets fouled-passes to Kruse who assists Rashica for the 2-0.

strikers for this upcoming U21 seems to have plenty of choices if everyone is fit. Believe currently Platte is the only issue in that regard.
96-Waldschmidt, Platte (injury issues), Seydel (just returned last weekend from long term injury)
97-Teuchert (injury/fitness issues ever since his Schalke move), lyoha, Knoll, Eckert, Reese, Richter
    98-Serra, J.Eggestein, L.Nmecha

that's 12 options (excluding Werner) although since senior NT took Sane/Brandt, the only option left for W is Oztunali, it's why guys like Richter, Waldschmidt and J.Eggestein if picked could end up being W options instead of striker.. Other guys who could be used in W are Amiri/Sabiri and the Union boys of Hartel/Mees and Ochs if they are called up.

it also explains why some of these strikers are listed in midfield in the dfb call sheet.

I think it's too late for Eckert and Reese too, never been called up for U21 and need to do better. Doesn't help them that Seydel and Teuchert recently returned to fitness.

shame that Tietz and Duker were loaned back to 3rd Liga this season even if both played there last season and performed. They were never given a chance by their clubs in 2BL. Duker played very well in very limited game time, including scoring once in 2BL before his loan. And Tietz is performing for one of the worst teams in the entire 3rd Liga. Hopefully Tietz stops playing in 3rd Liga and lower form 2019-2020 season-onwards and sticks to 2BL min.

Vasiliadis is similar to Mehlem's situation. Both players have done well and are two of the better youngsters in 2BL this season. However with the depth in the U21 NT, they seem like players who are on the outside looking in to get a chance at being called up.

Vasiliadis yes it's due to the tough midfield competition with his competition playing in 1BL too.

but Mehlem is being ignored and instead we call up Sabiri who barely even plays. Even Mees/Hartel deserve a call up more than Sabiri.
Sabiri does have potential but everything went downhill for him post FCN and England move and to his credit he's done well with U21 when he has played.

I think Sabiri and Uduokhai are the ones who could use U21 performances to boost their club careers. Recall head honchos at Wolfsburg were very glad that he was playing in U21 because when they needed to use him, he'd have match practice. Due to long term injury he lost his XI place and is now the bench CB option.

U17-U19 are catch up games like the whole weekend was.

    U17
    X1:Heich, Batmaz

    U18
Liverpool are through to the FA Youth Cup Final for the 1st time since 2009. Glatzel scored a brace in a 2-1 win vs Watford.
Takes Glatzel's tally to 28 goals for the season.

    U19
    X3:Eyibil
    X2:Schonfelder
X1: Papela, Elahi, Gurk, Gereke, Sengun

still don't get how we left out Eyibil from the Euro U17 squad? Glad to see all 3 of Mainz's 01s on the score sheet.

    OL
Teuchert started and scored for Schalke II in a 3-0 win. Not only did he score but had a hand in both the 2 other goals. Seems like 1 goal and 2 assists. Looks like Teuchert personally requested to play in II to get match practice.

Schalke II also very likely finally heading back to RL next season.

    RL
    Rochelt (9th), Covic (3rd), Roczen X2 (5th), Tomic (7th),

I do think it's interesting the Roczen vs Kiprit (currently on loan in Austrian Bundesliga). 2 99 strikers and Kiprit is more rated but....
Kiprit 6 goals in 16 games playing 1103 min
Roczen 5 goals in 11 games playing 404 min

even more so when they are both playing their 1st seasons post U19 in II. Last season in U19, Roczen left Hertha U19 and went to play Union Berlin U19 and Kiprit continued to be Hertha U19 1st choice, became top scorer of U19 Nord/Nordost, also top scorer of the U19 Knockout stages and led Hertha to their historic U19 trophy. But post U19, Roczen seems to be doing better....

    3rd Liga
-Due to yellow card accumulation, Y.Otto was suspended but EB won without him and now in the safety zone. Thats pretty good for a team who've been the bootom of the whole table few months ago. Kept climbing up and up.
-Hemmerich has also played over 400 min since his Winter loan. Hopefully he finds a place at Aue next season.

    2BL
-Janelt continues to start for Bochum. While 01-Romling played 3 min+injury time, he's played over 90 min for 1st team.
-Pieper came on the 90+3 min in AB's 3-1 win over Bochum, his 3rd cap in 2BL since his Winter move.
-looks like Seufert got injured today as he only lasted 42 min. AB seems to have 97 players who they use a lot in Seufert, Staude and
Lucoqui. Lucoqui this is his 1st pro season in top 2 division, while Seufert believe is one of kicker's highest rate players last I checked in Winter break, more low profile players to be sure.
-Vasiliadis with an assist in a 3-1 win for Paderborn.
currently at 3 goals and 8 assists in 20 games in his 1st season in 2BL, previously a 3rd Liga player

Unused bench: Saglam, Massimo, Ozkan, Kaya (not sure what he has to do to get a chance), Boeder, Rinderknecht
also sad to Max Christiansen make no progress over the last couple of seasons.

    Austrian Bundesliga
Playing for one of the worst teams in the league 98-Berisha scores his 1st of the season since his Winter loan.

    Danish Superligua.
Ochs started for the 1st time after being on bench for the last 3 matches. Played full game as LB in a 3-1 win.

    Eredivisie
-Chabot/Handwerker help Groningen to a 1-0 win. Win takes the club just 4 pts out of the Europe playoff spots.
-Eckert played 24 min in a 2-0 loss for Excelsior

    1BL
-M.Eggestein and J.Eggestein were pretty good today.
-Sahin is suspended for next match due to card accumulation, chance for Mbom? Both Mohwald and Klaassen seem to have gotten injury/fitness issues from today. Although for those 2 upcoming International break might mean they will be fully fit again.
-Muhl and Lowen continue to start for FCN and weren't too bad. In fact FCN when they lose they barely lose these days. Just not enough to score to win games. But defensively not too bad. T.Tillman who made his pro debut last weekend, now made his pro XI debut today. Wasn't too bad either, playing 59 min in their 1-0 loss. While Knoll came off the bench playing 22 min. Is it me or does Knoll look more buff than before? Had some good moments too, just not enough from wings/midfield to get scoring chances. Fuchs was unused bench player and 98-S.Rhein returns from a red card suspension as unused bench player.
-Oztunali and F,Muller starting vs Bayern not much one can expect them to do though. 00-Mai ended up as unused once again. Come on you suck Kovac, you lead 6-0 and you use the last sub for Rafinha (who sucks). Seriously how are these young players supposed to dev when they never play. Like I said awhile ago, Mai is nothing but a back up player who Kovac doesn't want to use unless he's forced to use him. He only makes squads when others are injured. Than when Pavard or whoever else comes he'll be irrelevant, so this year he spends in II/RL and being in unused back up player and Bayern blocked 2BL loans possibility in Winter but then he's good chance going on loan in Summer.....

    -J.Eggestein Getting some High praise.
Eurosport expert Matthias Sammer (51) gets into raptures at half time: "The Bremen goals were world class. And look at the Johannes Eggestein, the biggest players do not do that better. "

those were some fantastic moves from J.Eggestein and getting praise from German Legend too.

    -More on the Eggestein Bros.
Of course, Eggestein, Maxi Eggestein, had to be addressed immediately on the "Eurosport" microphone: "That made me proud and gave me self-confidence - but I did not think about it on the pitch," the 22-year-old told his first Appointment to the German national team. Participated in two out of three matches in Leverkusen, he illustrated in the first game after the squad announcement, why coach Joachim Loew can imagine the midfielder with the eagle on his chest. His brother Johannes - as a striker for Loew maybe one day interesting - he attested, among other things, a good degree and a template for submission a "very, very good performance".

    New variant rehearsed
"We had to win today to stay on top," said Eggestein - which has been successful for the time being. Werder are only three points behind sixth-placed Bayer 04, the qualification for the Europa League seems tangible. While captain Kruse was happy about the national team nomination "very special" for Eggestein, the formidable offensive allrounder saw a deserved away win for his team.

-On Stenzel (Hopefully he keeps his place)
    Stenzel takes the first chance
At this special moment Pascal Stenzel had to wait some time. The precise preparation for Vincenzo Grifo's opening goal on Friday at Borussia Mönchengladbach was the first assist of the right-back since November 2016. Not the only reason to consider the working day as successful.
Apart from that, Stenzel showed a good performance. In the newly formed four-man chain, Stenzel was his man and also provided impulses on the offensive. "He was strong against Alassane Plea", praised coach Christian Streich and emphasized: "He has not played for many weeks."

"I had a few actions at the beginning, from which I could take self-confidence." Although he scored a millisecond late in the Plea goal, Stenzel had a good grip on the French and later on Thorgan Hazard: "It was hard work, but it also paid off in the end."
    http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...nzel-nutzt-die-erste-chance.html#omsmtwkicker

    -97-Mehlem
But somehow it was understandable that the 21-year-old could not hold on in the 92nd minute, which was one of the biggest moments of his young career: After fine dribbling Mehlem closed in the last second of the stoppage time indicated by a low shot to the South Hessian Away victory - and then tore the jersey from the body. He was able to live with the third warning of the season. "It was a great feeling to be in front of our fans after the 3-2 and to just hear them at that moment," said the most consistent Darmstädter for weeks, describing the exhilaration of the moment.

Can Aue Iyoha still hold now?
He sat at lunch when he was informed by coach Daniel Meyer (39): Aue striker Emmanuel Iyoha (21) bursting with joy about the invitation to the U21 national team.

The DFB-Bubis test against France on Thursday and on March 26 against England - two classics. Iyoha: "I did not know anything about the nomination before. You work so hard all year long. I am glad that this is also perceived outside of Aue. "

The invitation is earned by Iyoha (3 goals, 6 assists). For weeks the Düsseldorf loan is in top form. Meyer: "The nomination is a confirmation of his strong performance. Emma represents himself and our club on a very good level. "

Tomorrow Iyoha will meet with the national team in Dusseldorf. He says, "It's going to be an exciting time. I hope I can show myself in the games. "

If Iyoha convince in the DFB jersey, Aue's chances of keeping the striker disappear. On June 30, the loan ends, the FCE would like to keep him for another year.

Iyoha: "The talks are ongoing, there is still no tendency. I like it in Aue, you can see that on the pitch. I feel very comfortable in the team and with the coaching team. "

After returning from the national team Iyoha wants to continue full blown for the FCE. Because Aue is far from being saved. Iyoha after the 1: 5 debacle in Kiel: "We can not rest on 32 points. Immediately after the break we continue against Dresden. We definitely want to win against them, if only because it's a derby. "

"SIMPLY TRAIN BETTER AGAIN", Coach slap for Arp
After the Darmstadt fiasco, there was the first real slap in the face for Arp by coach Hannes Wolf (37): "I do not mean it now - just train better again! We have young German internationals in the squad, not just Fiete, they have to stretch every day. They are there, but not much else happens. Training better often also helps to play better. "

So far, Arp still enjoyed "puppy protection" at HSV. After all, the homegrown could still play in the A-youth. Now it is over. Lack of training readiness speaks for a lack of attitude. And the HSV can not afford the promotion fight.
    https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/...l-wieder-besser-trainieren-60717882.bild.html

seems like Arp is having issues, few months ago, in an interview, he made seem like he needed a break, relegation to 2BL affected him hard. Huge amount of pressure reached him too from press/fans. He needed a vacation.

I don't think it's the end of the world, only 19, and players his age are playing U19 so that's the only reason why this isn't a 100% wasted season. It's a good learning experience too, the down part.

Hopefully HSV gets promotion this season so that Arp could dump HSV this Summer and go to another club on loan in 1BL. Still a good prospect based on potential. He just needs the right environment and not playing at his boyhood club could be the best possible thing for him, less emotional attachment and pressure. He made a mistake in staying at HSV and it all went worse once Titz got sacked too.

Tsiy William Ndenge played his first full 90 mins of the season for FC Luzern since returning from injury. The match ended in a 1-1 draw vs FC Thun. At the moment, Luzern are level at 33 points with Zurich, although are behind in GD. 4th place in the Swiss league is an entry point for the Europa league second qualification round.

I think for U21, no Nubel/Teuchert/Serdar is likely due to wanting to focus on Schalke. Could be why no Maina/Muslija and Maina did recently return from a long term injury, would be terrible if something happens while playing for Germany. So they could be focusing on H96.

no idea why no Dardai and Shabani though, focusing on 1st team?

speaking of Shabani from a week ago.

Shabani was already in the winter on the slip of Ajax
At Jeong, those responsible will probably just as well as Friedl and Meritan Shabani on the buyback option knock or the player only borrow. Shabani was heavily courted by Ajax Amsterdam in the winter. For years, the Champions League quarter-finalist has consistently relied on young, viable players who can then be resold later for a win. Shabani fits in with this pattern, but in the winter the Dutch top club still flashed off.

Maybe the two clubs will come together in the summer, although Ajax is unlikely to enjoy the required buy-back option. With Eric ten Hag, however, the former coach of the small Bayern is on the bridge at the Dutch record champions. The 49-year-old enjoys a high reputation on Säbener Straße and could, thanks to his contacts, contribute to a sensible agreement.
    https://www.merkur.de/sport/fc-baye...fokus-von-ajax-werder-und-mainz-11832606.html

seems like Shabani really attracted their attention even more in YL when Bayern played Ajax 2 times.

    Must ARP Change in Summer?
At the end of the season, Fiete can decide for himself whether he will spend another year in Hamburg or whether he will start his employment with Bayern Munich. The trend is clear: HSV does not need and wants him anymore. Bayern coach Niko Kovac (47), however, believes in Arp. He has already made a promise that Fiete "will be a national player in the next few years".

Hard to imagine, taking Arp's actual state as a benchmark. But his environment sees reasons for the performance stagnation. It was not an isolated case of peers in the transition from junior to men's area. In addition, the body-stressed second division everyday life with little playful accents of the playing style of Fiete Arp not come. In addition, the Reward target would generate so much pressure that there would be no room for Arp to evolve.

Under-19 coach Guido Streichsbier (49): "Fiete is a mature, intelligent player who also cares about his person and his club. That's not normal for his age and definitely positive. "

Arp's situation at HSV estimates Streichsbier: "The pressure that the club is on is enormous. Therefore, the coach can not dare too many experiments. I wish that Fiete plays a good European Championship qualifier and takes this momentum to Hamburg. He has what it takes to help HSV in the ascent fight. "
    https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/fussball/hsv-muss-fiete-arp-im-sommer-wechseln-60739858.bild.html

good he needs to leave anyways. The good news is Arp leaving HSV should open spots to Wintzheimer and Pakia. It's a win-win, Arp can develop elsewhere wherever that is, whether Bayern or a 1BL loan and other players can take his place at HSV.
