get the feeling that Adeyemi doesn't always get called up because he's already ahead of the rest club wise. As he starts games in Austrian 2nd division while the rest are starting to breakthrough U19 but majority of players are still in U17. This mini tournament is during the club season and not International dates like the U17 Euro qualifiers.

also got the long term injured of Samardzic. Some of the on call players are also interesting.

Calhanoglu vs Netz is interesting, don't mind if Netz is a back up for 02 and then starts for 03s when they play U17. As U18 for 02s is just friendlies.

some Hertha fans made a good point about Ngankam from their U19.

he's currently playing CF but can also play winger which could be how he breakthrough the 1st team faster than the guys like Kiprit, Pronichev. Neither height not physicality seem to be an issue either.

He told me he’s 183cm now

Not the most ideal but adequate

183 cm is perfectly fine and he has the physicality too. But he has a far better chance getting playing time if he starts from the W. Can't really imagine Kiprit at the wings. Even Selke and Ibi shouldn't play W, Kopke has some W experience from his 2BL time.

Stefan Kuntz criticizes missing U23 teams

U21 national coach Stefan Kuntz sees a lack of U23 teams a problem for the German football junior.

"We're losing talents because promotion after the U19 is no longer optimal, it is counterproductive when U-23 teams are deregistered, while in Spain many clubs open a second team in the field," said Kuntz in an interview "Sport picture".

Only 19 percent of German Bundesliga players went directly from the A-youth in the highest German league.

Under European Under-21 Championship Germany will play in the summer before the European Championships in Italy and San Marino Test matches against France (21 March) and England (26 March).

Asked how jealous Kuntz looks at these nations with their plethora of talents, the 56-year-old responded: "We do not paint any doomsday scenarios, but we're worried about the future." German clubs are increasingly buying foreign talent to jump into the faster Bundesliga, "said Kuntz.

One reason is just missing U23 teams. These are no longer mandatory for Bundesliga clubs, Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt, for example, have none.

yeah what I've been criticizing for ages the 3 1BL clubs with no II teams is a bad thing and the increasing number of foreign players.

his move to 2BL has not worked because he's only gets small amount of game time, not much to do anything. 2BL has shown itself to not be a great place for dev of players especially if a bench player.

there is a reason as to why more and more clubs are loaning in players to 3rd Liga over 2BL. As 3rd Liga clubs seem more interested in giving chances and playing time and more and more 2BL players loan don't work out or even permanent 2BL players are being loaned out to 3rd Liga/RL for match practice, same issue. That league is just too much mid-20s to early 30s players.

it's kind of weird that it feels like there are more youngsters in the top flight of 1BL than in 2BL, while 1BL is obviously the higher level.

concerning the II issue it's more than those 3 clubs though. The relevance of II clubs seems to be decreasing by the season as more clubs don't really care much about their II teams. They only bother when they are hit with mass injuries otherwise complete indifference. they also buy players even when they have players in there that could be promoted.

plenty of II players do very well, they perform but no matter what they do there is no 1st team prospect. Kind of wasteful. Instead of promoting some with 4th division experience, they just buy players from lower tier 1st divisions or even 2nd division clubs from Europe.

you even have ex II players talking about how there was 0 prospects no matter how they did.

    Kaya update.

Benschop has been loaned out so,

Coach Jens Keller does not want to look into the cards at the moment, but after the 3-1 win over the weekend in the test match against Halleschen FC, there are signs that FC Ingolstadt will prefer to play 4-3-3. While Sonny Kittel and Konstantin Kerschbaumer duel on the left in the assault series, central youngster Fatih Kaya has become a serious competitor for Dario Lezcano and Stefan Kutschke.
    https://www.liga-zwei.de/fc-ingolstadt-wird-thomas-pledl-wieder-zur-festen-groesse/

to think, how poor Ingolstadt have been this season in 2BL
Kaya 1 goal in 1 game playing 66 min
Benschop 1 goal in 9 games playing 351 min
Kutschke 1 goal in 15 games playing 697 min
Lezcano 3 goals in 13 games playing 765 min

    English League Cup
F.Nmecha made his pro debut for Man City off the bench playing 23 min in a 1-0 win. In this thread because he's not provisionally capped by another country. If he does get provisionally capped by England than he goes to the dual/triple thread. Win sees Man City advance to League Cup final.

    Coupe de France
-PSG won 2-0 vs 5th place Strasbourg, Kehrer played the full game and clean sheet as they advance to the R16.
-while Monaco can't do anything right as they lost 3-1 to a Ligue 2 side and another tournament crash for Henrichs after CL GS

    Dutch Cup
Laukart off the bench played 65 min in a 3-2 loss to Willem II. Same game had Akkaynak as an unused bench player. The win sees Akkaynak/Willem II advance to the Semi-Finals. Kind of does feel like Akkaynak is still being punished for that one time where the Willem II German contingent who snuck out from team hotel during Christmas. The other Germans there seem to be back in order, him not as much. Seems like good reason is that the other Germans there were already established regulars at the club but Akkaynak is a newbie.

    Belgian Cup
Besuschkow played 41 min off the bench in the Belgian Cup Semi-Final Leg 1 which ended in a 0-0 draw for Union SG. His club ended the game with 10 men too.

once again Elvis Rexhbecaj is linked with Germany U21 call up.

There is no joy. Not even with Elvis Rexhbecaj (21). The midfielder scored his first goal in the 17th professional appearance. The VfL self-grown: "I would rather have made no goal and taken three points." Small consolation: The talent is long on the slip of U21 coach Stefan Kuntz (56).
    https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/...kritik-von-joerg-schmadtke-59680334.bild.html

I think good chance he gets called up for the March friendlies which are the last games before the U21 Championship.

that's interesting even more so since I would like to see all 3 in 1BL but they are all DMs, very likely only one goes to Hamburg.

I think if you lack the finances than Kisombi is the least likely of the 3. He's contracted until 2021, key player for Kiel and their captain, he's likely won't be cheap. Promel has a 2020 contract is long overdue to play in 1BL (Same for Neudercker). From the 2016 Olympics Promel and Christiansen are still the only non 1BL players from that squad. And has done well for Union this season.

Dorsch well as a 98 he's eligible for next U21 cycle, more 1BL players the better. He's done well for Heidenheim with the club telling Bayern how happy they are with him.

chance for Vagnoman to become main LB?

-meanwhile Carstens seems to be beefing himself up and progressing well.

-also Ludewig played another friendly with RB Salzburg 1st team, he started this one and played 46 min. Whole XI was subbed out at the 46th min, game was 1-1 HT and ended up as a 3-2 win.

-Shabani to Ajax is a good move.

-Update on Hack and D.Otto. Looks like Hack is impressing but keeps getting colds/ill while Otto's issue is defensive work. Looks like neither is leaving in Winter.

-Looks like Aue will loan Hemmerich to 3rd Liga until 2020. Once again no real chances for youngsters in 2BL and they go for 3rd Liga loan. He's being linked with Hansta Rostock. What sucks about this is that it reduces the RB options for the next U21 cycle....
    https://www.liga-zwei.de/erzgebirge-aue-luke-hemmerich-vor-dem-absprung/

-while 2BL Dynamo want to improve their chances to youngsters with Lowe and Hauptmann and likely Atilgan.
That Justin Löwe is fully planned in the second round of the SG Dynamo Dresden, have not only shown his time in the test matches. Like the other youngsters like Marius Hauptmann or Vaselj Kusej he was allowed to show himself. Sport Managing Director Ralf Minge had finally declared that they want to introduce their own youth players better in the future.

This also applies to Lowe, who wears the dynamo jersey since his earliest youth. So far, however, it was unclear how it goes with him after the season. Löwe's contract expires at the end of the season. According Liga-Zwei.de information, there are currently discussions about a contract extension with the own plant.

UEFA have made the draw for the 2020 U17 Euro Qualifiers and 2020 U19 Euro Qualifiers. Since Germany lost their bye to Elite Round we have to qualify to the Elite Round from the previous Round.

U17 Euro Qualifiers for 2003 Group
    Germany
    Greece
    Azerbaijan
    Kazakhstan

U19 Euro Qualifiers for 2001 Group
    Germany
    Scotland
    Belarus
    Andorra

this stage is very very simple. Top 2 teams make the Elite Round and even best 4 3rd place teams make Elite Round for U17 but only the best 3rd place for U19 make the Elite Round.

Mai is being linked with loan move.
According to the "kicker" Mai is considered a candidate for a departure from Bayern until the transfer Thursday next Thursday - probably on loan, as the responsible of the Munich keep much of the 18-year-old center-back.

Where Mai moves now, is not known. Last spring, however, the Bayern talent was allegedly close to a change to Hamburger SV.
    https://www.sport.de/news/ne3505010/fc-bayern-abwehr-juwel-lars-lukas-mai-vor-dem-abflug/

will be interesting to see if it happens or not or whether it's a Winter loan vs 1 and a half season loan until 2020.

-kicker says Dardai's extension is until 2021 and that he could be loaned next season. That seems to be a growing trend loaning players instead of having the patience to dev them.

I also feels like some of the clubs that say this player isn't ready and we have a 2-4 year plan for them is more like we already have players in his position and once those players current contract expires they will finally "be ready". It's why the whole 1st team promotion is a very complicated issue as too many factors are involved.

-meanwhile with Ginczek injured Labbadia wants to get some reinforcements but looks like he'll be forced to use what he has because of financial constraint on Wolfsburg. Well it's their fault for buying terrible players and spending tons of money over the last 2 seasons only for that to get them 2 consecutive relegation playoffs.
    http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...ep-und-die-transferblockade.html#omsmtwkicker

so pretty much means Labbadia wasn't even considering Hanslik at all and wanted to buy. Still time for them to loan in a striker though. Shows how little it matters to performing in II/RL.

-Marseiler extends until 2023 at his 3rd Liga club.

-Benda Interview, seems happy in his progress and confident on his future.
    https://www.transfermarkt.de/swanse...alles-richtig-gemacht-ldquo-/view/news/327501

always wondered how he ended up in England. Looks like ex Swansea and German GK Gerhard Tremmel works as a scout for the club.

-Speaking of Hertha Berlin with the extension of Dardai, not looking at U19/II players but 1st team players who have expired 2019 contract are the following.

Smarsch, Kade, Baak, Kurt, Covic and Friede.

even with his loan Friede still seems to have expired 2019 contract with Hertha seems up in the air whether he renews. I think Hertha have better midfield prospects than Friede too. Kurt seems headed out, has struggled as a player.

every indication says that Hertha don't want to lose Kade (currently injured). Baak's only issue is that there is no way he displaces Torunarigha, Stark and Rekik. He's currently 4-5th choice cb. Getting an extension than some time on loan could be the best route for him otherwise he'll continue to be nothing but a back up. Then when someone leaves he can move up.

Hertha wanted to loan Covic for some match practice but seems doubtful he has a future in Berlin. Finally Smarsch seems like one they should extend too.

-concerning U21, it'll be funny if we call up Mai (if he gets loan), Bisseck, Beyer, Bauer next cycle as these guys are all eligible for 2023 U21.

Maximilian Franzke extends his expiring Summer contract until 2021.
"Maxi has taken a big step forward this season and we believe that his potential is not yet exhausted. That's why we're delighted that he will stay with us for the rest of the season, "said Jochen Sauer, newcomer to the FC Bayern Campus.

In the units and games at the pros Maxi has left a good impression and shown his potential. Therefore, we are glad that he has continued to opt for Bayern, "said FCB sports director Hasan Salihamidzic. "I've been playing at Bayern for almost nine years now and I'm really happy that time is here for me," said the Munich native.
    https://fcbayern.com/de/news/2019/0...ert-vertrag-vorzeitig?shortURL=FranzkeVertrag

and Bayern continues their BS either pro contracts or extensions, lol.

I mean the it's a double edge sword.
On 1 edge, the -, almost everyone with pro contract/extension will never ever be a 1st team regular.
On the other the + (the only one) is that if Bayern II can get 3rd Liga promotion than these guys will play at a higher level than RL and as usual higher level means the more you impress in 3rd Liga the easier it could/would be to jump to 2BL or even possibly 1BL.

seems to me that Bayern is extending all of these players mostly just taking into account possible 3rd Liga next season. Bayern board have been aiming for 3rd Liga promotion for ages now. Then obviously intend on trying to stay at that level for as long as possib;e and not get relegation.

we got a new #1 GK, he's the youngest #1 in top 3 divisions in Germany.

99-Lennart Grill has been made the #1 for 3rd Liga club FC Kaiserslautern. Should make his debut this weekend.

Hildmann confirms: Grill the new number one
Before the start of the winter break Hildmann had deliberately left open the goalkeeper question and proclaimed a competition. From this Grill emerges as the winner. The 19-year-old has already played in the national cup, now he is one day after his 20th birthday before his league debut. The decision had ultimately fallen in coordination with goalkeeping coach legend Gerry Ehrmann. "We are constantly in exchange there," says Hildmann, who already knows Grill from days together in the junior area of Mainz 05. "I wish he plays the same way he trains."

Grill has collected plus points especially through his training performance. For the keeper born in Idar-Oberstein but also speak the perspective. "We want to develop players," says Hildmann. The goalkeeper, who was still a regular in the Lauterer U 19 last season, can now prove himself in the "Stahlbad 3. Liga" and "free-swim". "We now give him the platform to show himself," says Hildmann.
    http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...nn-bestaetigt_grill-die-neue-nummer-eins.html

Youngest players have been 00-Plogmann playing 1 game this season in 1BL and 00-Mantl who played 2 3rd Liga games last season. Another 99-Bruhns played 1 3rd Liga last season. I've course I'm not counting making 1st team bench for 99-onwards. The others are all 98 and older.

also if I recall Kaiserslautern do have a history of producing GKs.

    Hertha predictions for squad.

Dennis Smarsch (20), also a goalkeeper, is predicted a big future for Hertha. Maybe he could become a potential successor to Jarstein. Also Florian Baak (19), the currently injured Julius Kade (19) and Palko Dardai (19) are talents of Hertha, which experienced their first senior season this season. For all youngsters is expected to extend.

With Maurice Covic (20) and Sidney Friede (20), currently on loan to Belgium, further sporting development will depend on continued employment.

The same fate will have to be experienced by Sinan Kurt (22). The "eternal" talent could not achieve the desired breakthrough after his move from the big FC Bayern. After weight problems and missing form, Kurt was not allowed to participate in the professional training for some time.
    https://www.tag24.de/nachrichten/he...iga-berlin-vedad-ibisevic-marko-grujic-944099

The other players from the link.
    Kraft-out
Klinsmann Jr-possible 1 year extension for the sake of keeping training quality.(but they forget that Korber returns from his loan)
Gersbeck-uncertain but likely out due to persistent injuries
    on loan Luckassen-out
on loan Grujic-Hertha want longer term but Liverpool only willing another season on loan
    Ibisevic-seems likely to renew
Lustenberger-his family already moved back to Switzerland so good chance he's out
    Skjelbred-extended until 2020

relevance of posting these guys is simple, they leave, spots open whether in Summer or in 2020.
