I don't need to make other suggestions, because I don't think we neceserally need a "typical" striker in the squad just to have one in the squad. I am not against strikers in a team. No, I would love to have one or two really good ones who are useful for the team. Neither Joselu (beside the other often discussed reasons against him) nor Uth (not yet) have the quality to help. There is just no german central striker ready for the NT. I hope Gomez will be an alternative for Müller in France 16. Or someone has a great development

Mustafi was clutch once again for Valencia, scoring the equalizer against Atletico Madrid in the 78th min. Quite the breakthrough campaign he's had. His 4th goal this season which now leads La Liga in most goals scored by defender, while also maintaining a core presence in one of the top defensive systems in the entire league.

Mustafi, one of three Valencia players included in La Liga's Best XI of February

Mustafi and Can really impressed me both as fullback and center back.

Well I think both can do great if they're implemented early enough. I also want to add Rüdiger who had a great match in the friendly against Spain. He may just need some time with the team. On the other hand my fellow Gladbacher Julian Korb didn't develope a lot this year unfortunately. He's solid defensively but adds nothing offensively in his current form. He's really the weak link in the Gladbach defense. :(

Sweet strike by Bellarabi for his 10th goal of the season. A big test for Leverkusen this upcoming Tuesday whether they can apply their advantage and finish off Atletico Madrid.

HI All, have been missing for a while. Anyway for some more serious updates.Been thinking of the NEW NT team, who would be part of it. I see many players like Draxler and co who were promising are either injured or lost form. Some new faces at NT some have really upped their games others not. Just wondering who would currently be part of the 23 man squad. Obviously the core team still exists but am sure there will be much debate about who should get a chance to play for NT and not.
I am really outdated on what going on.
    Schurrle out of form
    Badstuber ?
All the youngsters that were part of the WC squad are they still there, what about new players .
Can anyone sort of update me on who currently top and who not.
I suppose these players are all part of the team still
Neuer, Boa, Hummels, Howedes, Schweini, Kroos, Oezil, Gotze , Reus, Muller
But what about the rest... Would appreciate if someone could update me on the rest...

I think if Jogi sticks to the 4 CB backline, Badstuber will take over for Höwedes.

GK: Neuer, Zieler, Marc André Ter Stegen
DEF: Boateng, Hummels, Mustafi, Rüdiger, Badstuber, Schmelzer, Höwedes
MID: Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Gündogan, Götze, Özil, Müller, Schürrle, Draxler, Bellarabi, Khedira
    ATT: Kruse, Reus, Podolski

    -------------------Götze
    Reus-----------------------------Müller
    -------------------Kroos
    ---------Gündogan------Schweinsteiger
    Badstuber-Hummels-Boateng-Rüdiger
    -------------------Neuer

    My guess

@P to the Wee explained it beautifully, but also I feel like Johannes Geis is a name that will soon be on the Germany squad, same with Meyer on his current trajectory. I also don't think Podolski 'should or will be on that squad for much longer if he can't even get off the bench at Inter, but I recognize there are some here that will dispute that.

Yeah Geis is a good guy on the list that I forgot. Purposely left Meyer off because he's not a locked in starter yet, but I could definitely see him working his way in there.

I think Podolski is out if he can't find stability anytime before the Euros, but as a 23rd guy that never plays, he's good for keeping everybody loose.

In terms of top recent performances I would remove Draxler and Rüdiger from the list for now. They've been out injured since around Nov/Dec and lack match practice and form in order to have substantial impact on the team. I'd replace them with Emre Can and Volland.

Can is a solid versatile presence and has been a revelation at Liverpool all season. Volland has also been on a tear as of late, and could fill as another attacker.

Can too. Could see him as the RB maybe.

Draxler and Rüdiger are Löw favorites, though, so they're still in the NT picture moreso than Can or Volland.

That looks like a real good team, no wonder loew is extending as he must feel this team can still win some trophies.
I guess Poldi will have a hard time now to break through, same as Khedira - but I guess Khedira once he moves to another club will definitely be back.
Whats with Players like Kramer, Hermann, Can (as left back for Liverpool could be an option), bender brothers, Rode, Meyer(schalke).
NOt sure about Rudiger though , guess Mustafi/Badstuber are better options, definitely think CAn should get a chance.
I guess the core team is still in tact, just the bench that needs to be filtered in or out.

    My squad 22 members

    Neuer, Zieler, Leno

Boateng, Hummels, Mustafi, Badstuber, Howedes, Can, Schemelzer/Durm/Hector

Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Gundogan, Khedira, Muller, Reus, Schurrle, Ozil, Gotze, Bellarabi, L. Bender

    Gomez

The 23rd member can be an additional left back from my list above or Geis or Podolski or Rudiger or Draxler...

Overall I still think germany has a good team... still think we will miss Lahm. I mean he single handedly stood as our wall against Ronaldo Freekick - who in the world can do that but Lahm :)....
Also interested to see how Belgium and France NT teams are going to perform. SPain seems to have such a pool of talent that I am sure they will also come back into contention.
Who would be the biggest opponents at Euro 16?
    Belgium
    France
    Spain
    Holland and Italy
