It would be an absolute Treppenwitz of history if Hahn makes it to a tourney while a player like Martin Max never did.

Hahn is a very underrated player.

He has a complete package. Pace, physique, killer instinct, aerial ability and can play high line pressing. Exactly what the team need regardless of fame

He can work on his passing, but he really reminds me of Benzema

Hahn has played a game for the National Team back in 2014

I actually like Hahn and also wouldn't mind giving him a chance. But you're seriously jumping the gun and going above and beyond to overrate him now with those reptitive cliches. Gotta set realistic and incremental expectations.

I had to wake up from hibernation to laugh at this. What an utter joke, comparing a middling inside forward for a relatively good Bundesliga team to probably one of the 5 best strikers in football today.

He doesn't play inside forward in Gladbach, Hahn plays as a centre forward

Favre played him at CF; now Schubert

If uve watched Hahn play, u realize he has everything u want in a striker. Height, physique, finishing, heading, pace n explosiveness. He also does a lot of pressing in final third, a perfect forward with a team playing high line defense.

He may be a poor man's Benzema, but Hahn has every single aspect of the game u want in your striker

He has neither intelligence nor instincts which is what you need to be a really top quality front man, when you have no truly exceptional abilities like Hahn does. Gomez is twice the player he is with a proven track record of scoring goals and bringing much of the same skill set you talk about. At best Hahn can be a squad player, if your squad was 30 players big.

Mario Gomez doesn't do a lot pressing, and we are playing high line defense. Not to mention he doesn't have Hahn's explosiveness n pace which will be useful in counter attack

In terms of leaping ability, Hahn is even better

Did you just compare Hahn to Benzema? I have to ask, which of these players have you never seen play before? If Hahn had the skill, intelligence, and playmaking ability of Benzema no one would be arguing against his inclusion. Problem is he only brings a similar frame and athleticism to Benzema, not a similar game.

Hahn does not play center forward for gladbach, nor did he under Favre. He plays on the right of an attacking trio or he plays off of Raffael...who is the striker in Gladbach. Under Favre Hahn played right wing behind Herrmann & Traore.

Hahn is the perfect striker, outside of technique and finishing...unless we look only at the hotstreak he's been for these past 3 weeks.

He's no man's benzema. There's just simply nothing to that comparison other than their size and your fetish for big strikers.

He doesn't play Centre Forward for Gladbach?

Rafael is the one who drops deep often n Hahn is the one who keeps penetrating in their final third.

Oh, please . At least watch some games before u make such silly comments. Or ask someone here ... For Christ sake

And u are being cocky .... Unbelievable.

    @Rosebud

Reporter from DFB also specifically asked Hahn about his performance as a centre forward, he said it's not a new position to him

In Gladbach, he is the one up top, not Rafael not Stindl... He plays as a targetman for Gladbach

In 2014/2015 season, he plays CF in a couple of games too, under Favre.

Watch some Gladbach games before u claim yourself as a Gladbach fan. It's a disgrace.

U are just being personal for the sAke of it

N u call yourself a Gladbach fan when u say Hahn doesn't play Centre Forward for your team? Have u watched Gladbach's game?

Rafael plays as a trequartista for Gladbach.

And please watch Bayern VS Gladbach in 2014/2015 season, under Favre.

Before u say people's comments are "inaccurate"

People here can prove where Hahn plays for Gladbach. But stop saying you are a Gladbach fan, stop embarrassing yourself when u don't even watch their game

I'm absolutely not a gladbach fan. My eiserne will forever be the only club that is truly in my heart.

...though the gladbach fans on this forum have tried to claim me as one of their own before; because unlike you I actually watch them play (as they're attractive/innovative), and have often discuessed with them the way they play. I was ready to let this just die, because you're fundamentally misunderstanding even the factually accurate parts of your posts...whether intentionally to support your fantasies, or unintentionally, I do not know. But the game reports you've read are clearly not explaining Gladbach's tactics, how they play, or the way their attacking unit distributes their responsibilities.

You are correct that Hahn has been playing alongside Raffael these past three weeks...although most of his games this season (nevermind previous ones) have been on the wing on a 4-4-2 or as one of the wide men in the front 3 of a 3-4-3...but the position he plays now is one where he's tasked with dropping deeper (and wider) to defend than his partner Raffael; who is free to stay further up the pitch. You are also correct in saying that Raffael drops deep to help them build and to draw defenders out of position more often than Hahn...like the center forward for gladbach has done since Favre was still in charge and Max Kruse was that center forward, whom Raffael was playing off of. You are once again factually correct in saying that Hahn is the one who charges past the backline into space on the break (especially in the wider areas)...like the wingers/wide-forwards have done for gladbach since Favre was still in charge.

So please. Stop mixing what you've read in game reports with letting your archaic theories on how this sport should be played, and presenting this as anything more than your fantasies. Hahn is simply not the player you've presented him as. And he's too nice a guy for people on here to start hating on simply because of expectations you've put on him that have no connection to reality.

On a related note, there are 6 players in Turkey's squad for the Euros who were born and raised in Germany - Hakan Calhanoglu, Nuri Sahin,Gökhan Töre, Olcay Sahan, Cenk Tosun and Yunus Malli. I guess Toprak would also be in the squad if he didn't have a row with Töre.

not as weird as Marcell Jansen and Tim Wiese's retirement. LOL one retiring because he only wants to play at only one club and the other becomes a bodybuilder/wrestler.
