Davie Selke scored in Hertha's friendly win vs Czech side Dukla Prague

Niclas Füllkrug and Hendrik Weydandt both bagged a brace, and Oliver Sorg also scored in Hannover's friendly

Looks like Weydandt has been one of the top surprises in Hannover's training camp this summer. His teammates call him "Hulk" for his big physical stature. And appears to be scoring regularly in freindlies. The soon to be 23 y/o in the next few days played in the RL last season scoring 15 goals there. He drew attention from 3.Liga sides but was eventually attracted by H96's interest as there's potential to take the next step up.

He scored twice today and he's as tall as Kleindienst but not as tall as Seydel who's almost 2m lol.

he's getting a chance because of last season but also because only Hannover strikers are Fullkrug, Wood, Asano, and Gueye (return from loan). He's the youngest on the list and least experienced as well.

the German reserves is filled with players that get ignored but who could perform if given the chance. Jaeckel, Hubers, Baku, Richter etc are just quick examples of guys who did perform last season and all seem to be in the 1st team plans now. His career trajectory is being said to be mirroring Klose!

Even if he has a career trajectory along the lines of someone current like Niederlechner, then that still goes a long way in helping that club and establishing himself as legit pro. But yea it takes a lot of work and determination to develop from lower level obscurity to making it on the first division. Actually with his build, maybe Weydandt is more comparable as being potentially the next Alex Meier? ';)

Daferner is another player among reserves that should play higher up next season but doesn't have a perspective with Freiburg already being crowded. If he doesn't go anywhere this summer, best thing for him to do is have a really strong Hinrunde and hope to move in the winter. Likewise, Nieland who just arrived at their reserves will need to do the same in another year or so.

wasn't even in the matchday squad as the Danish Superliga is back in session.

this move never made sense to me. He's never played 1BL in his career and after a fantastic season in 2BL had tons of interest in 1BL but then moves to Denmark...

This is really sad...Meyer was supposed to be the big thing when he emerged 6 years back...I still hope his career takes right shape and he doesn't become another Marko Marin

talent is not the issue, his big greedy ego is. No one wants him because he wants too much $$$. He's on the long list of unprofessional German players.

    issues
question marks over attitude: Meyer, Kader
Age is a - factor and lack of playing time: Huth and Meier
lack of playing time: Frey, Wollscheid, Kirchhoff

guys like Schahin, Tasci, and Diekmeier played but not sure why the delay to find new clubs.

he's asking for $4 M in British pound a year and because of that none of the clubs all over Europe who were interested in him want him. He's a free agent too as his Schalke contract expired. And towards the end at the Schalke he got bashed by everyone there because of his attitude.

Meyer should ideally be at clubs like Hoffenheim, Leipzig, Marseille. Or if he didn't burn his bridges on the way out, stay at Schalke

Tasci and Diekmeier maybe rotation guys for lower BL sides. Can't say too much about Huth and Meier. Maybe rotation somewhere or a smaller league abroad or MLS since they're near the end of their careers

Wollscheid, Kirchhoff, and Frey in 2BL. While Kader in 3BL. Leaving Bunjaki out since theres no accurate report on his health. He should have been 2BL as he was previously most recently active at Eredivisie level

I believe Huth is attracting Championship interest. Weird to think he's never played football outside of England.

looks like Alex Meier is in Austria training with Admira Wacker.

as for Drexler looks like Mainz is out but Koln are interested. At this point he should just stay put in Denmark is it worth to go back to 2BL? His whole move reminds me of Younes and Napoli, signs with a club then regrets doing so.

I hope not would like for Rios Alonso to be the next in line, not yet another of Stuttgart's recent policy of getting older German players at the club.
