    So whats the future like?

I think we have plenty of options at GK, CB, CM/DM and on the wings. We lack fullbacks and strikers.

Is Kimmich the long term solution at RB? How do you guys rate his performance during Euro 2016?

Hector, Schmelzer or Plattenhardt at LB, i am not entirely worried.

Biggest problem is at striker. Are we playing false 9 or are we playing 33 year old Mario Gomez in WC 2018? I think Andre Hahn deserves a chance, he is 25 years old, he is physical, explosive and is a good aerial threat

Maybe the NT should focus on the development of Davie Selke and Lasogga as well. They may really help this national team if they can improve further.

    Options

GK) Neuer, ter Stegen, Leno, Trapp, Karius, Horn, Zieler

RB) Kimmich, Mitchell Weiser, Erik Durm, Rudy

CB) Boateng, Howedes, Tah, Rudiger, Hummels, Mustafi, Sule

    LB) Hector, Schmelzer, Plattenhardt

DM/CM) Kroos, Goretzka, Emre Can, Gundogan, Weigl, Dahoud, Khedira, Lars Bender, Geis, Sven Bender

    AM) Oezil, Goetze, Max Meyer

RW/LW) Bellarabi, Thomas Mueller, Brandt, Reus, Draxler, Leroy Sane, Schuerrle, Volland

CF) Mario Gomez, Andre Hahn, Selke, Lasogga, Mark Uth(?)

hopefully Volland will get fair chance to play as CF along with Chicharito in Leverkusen...also hoping for one of Selke/Werner will develop...if Hahn can make gradual progress in next 2 years he may have a chance as well...

Miro's father was an ethnic German and German national whose family chose to remain in Silesia after Silesia was given to Poland after WWII. His father migrated to Germany in 1978. Klose has been using a German passport since he was 18.

I expect the twins were born in Germany so they can be considered Polish as much as they could be considered German and their eligibility soccer wise could be for either NT. If they are with their father in Italy (and I have no idea) perhaps they could also be playing for the Italian NT?

(I'm just quoting the Wikipedia article)

Or as the quality journalists and true football connoisseurs at goal.com once called them in an article about upcoming German football stars: the Sven brothers.

GK: Neuer. Easy choice. Backups we have plenty of quality to choose from: Trapp, Ter Stegen, Leno, Fährmann, Wiese, etc..

CB: Boateng and Hummels is the go to pairing. They'll build further chemistry at Bayern if it's even possible for them to play better alongside each other. Höwedes will still be around, as will Mustafi. Maybe Tah takes another step forward and maybe Ginter reappears. Anyways we're well off here.

RB: Kimmich? Probably no one better is coming around in the next 2 years anyways.

LB: Could use an improvement. Would otherwise like to see Hector move to a bigger team where he's at least playing EL or CL. Schmelzer should get another opportunity too. Otherwise, it would be nice if someone exploded and took over this position.

CM: Kroos, Gündogan, Weigl, Khedira, Özil, Götze, Can, any upcoming youngsters,... We're set here.

LW: Reus, hopefully Brandt, Draxler too. More than well served.

RW: Müller, or you can play Özil here, or maybe one of Reus, Brandt, Draxler. Anyways we have options.

ST: The F9 didn't work, but I think it has more to do with players out of form than anything. If Müller wasn't in such a rut, he could play here, or if Götze played anywhere near his Dortmund days he could probably play here as well. Wouldn't hurt if Selke or someone else blew up and took this position.

is it fair to say that Muller's terrible form did cost us the trophy? We virtually played with 10 men on the pitch....

Anyways I sincerely hope Kimmich, Weigl, Sane and Brandt makes giant progress in next 2 years and Draxler achieves consistency...
for the left back position if Augsburg's Philip Max makes steady progress then I do not see a reason why he can't make 2018 squad...he is a fantastic crosser of the ball unlike Hector whose crosses were atrocious...
let's also hope finally Reus and Gundogan remains injury free and their hunger helps the team in achieving maximum in world cup 2018
I am also hoping both Gotze and Schurrle joins Dortmund and regains their form under Tuchel...they are too young to be scrapped

May I ask some experts here

Is Uth a centre forward or a winger? I saw him play as a wing But he was a centre forward back in his Koln days... Maybe in Holland as well

Will he be starting next season?

    No Reus, No Gundogan???

Must compete with Sandro Wagner, Eduardo Vargas, Andrej Kramaric

Oliver Bierhoff says Germany will not be in full strength in next year's confed cup. Some stars will be rested
