Hoffenheim have formed a very young coaching and managerial system. Here's an article on their head of scouting, Michael Mutzel. Him and club director of football, Alexander Rosen are both born in 1979 and have known each other since the days of being former youth NT players. Mutzel himself had previously held a role of manager at Greuther Fürth. He currently leads a group of 25 staff members, and holds close contact with head coach Julian Nagelsmann, Rosen, and other departments of team operations. His former managerial role has helped him in the area of scouting because he's already well networked in consultancy circles. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/.../artikel_mutzel_dieser-schritt-war-mutig.html

City are looking sloppy out there so far. Many wayward passes going out of bounds, and reliance on the long ball to an isolated Aguero. Anfield are certainly letting Judas Sterling hear it.
Jürgen Klopp: For me to beat City was the perfect way to end the year “Chelsea are unbelievably strong, but can you imagine how annoying it must be to win 13 games in a row and find there is still a team only six points behind?” the Liverpool manager said. “Maybe we will have to win 14 games in a row. No one really thinks we can do it, but for me to beat City was the perfect way to end the year. We knew we had to win, because we knew the earlier results. I only had to look at the guys’ faces to know Chelsea had won, but now we have won four in a row and we have to keep it going. We are in the region of the table where we want to be, we have to keep winning our games and see where that takes us.” Neither side created many chances and the Liverpool manager would have liked to see more control from his side. “We were not quite as good in possession as we should have been,” he said. “We defended really well but we were not as confident with the ball. I think we deserved the win, though. City are a really good side and we had to stay compact.” https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...klopp-liverpool-manchester-city-pep-guardiola Klopp best manager in world - Guardiola Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says his Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp is the best manager in the world for spectators as he "creates teams to attack the back four". http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/38472284

Interview with Domenico Tedesco, who looks to follow in the footsteps of Nagelsmann. The 31 year old is currently in his first season as coach of Hoffenheim's U19 team. And has just come off winning the Mercedes-Benz Junior cup this winter. Almost a year ago, he completed the training program required as a football coach with an overall top score of 1.0. http://www.dfb.de/news/detail/trainerjob-ist-berufung-tedesco-auf-nagelsmanns-spuren-160464/

The football world moves quickly. Right after the interview with the DFB, it's now been announced that Domenico Tedesco will be leaving his Hoffenheim U19 post at the end of this season. Both him and the club have reached an agreement on this decision, as Tedesco will be looking towards new challenges. David Wagner's Huddersfield Town AFC went toe-to-toe with Pep's Man City in the FA Cup resulting in nil-nil draw and forcing an extra game replay. http://www.examiner.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/huddersfield-town-0-manchester-city-12622771
http://www.squawka.com/news/hudders...ps-most-statistically-fascinating-team/904545 Huddersfield Town: The Championship’s most statistically fascinating team Wagner’s team play a brand of football more suited to Bavaria than Yorkshire, with a huge impetus on preventing the opposition from getting a foothold in the game, whilst getting the ball quickly to the two central midfielders in Jonathan Hogg and 26-year old Australian Aaron Mooy, who is on loan from Manchester City. Hogg (65.06) and Mooy (63.34) average 128.4 passes per 90 mins between them, That is more than Iniesta and Rakitic (124.51), Kroos and Modric (121.47), Weigl and Castro (118.08), Xhaka and Coquelin (122.95), as well as Silva and Yaya Toure (123.94) amongst many other of Europe’s top midfield duos. The message is take Huddersfield lightly at your peril, as they know how to play football. ------------------------------- Elias Kachunga is on loan from Ingolstadt, and is their top Championship scorer with 10, playing off the right in a front three. He has also created 46 chances this season, second at the club behind Mooy, and is a superb dribbler, succeeding with 31 of his 59 take-ons. ------------------------------- Above just having a talented group of players in roles that suit their attributes, Huddersfield’s style of play is just very hard to play against. They have defeated some of the best teams in the league, including Newcastle and Brighton who are the current top two. The latter created just one chance against them as they were defeated 3-1 earlier this month. Huddersfield went on top beat Leeds 2-1 in their next game, and Monk’s team created just three. Wagner has implemented a style that we are used to seeing at the top level of the game where the defensive unit, the back four and the midfield axis, are charged with robbing the opposition of it with a high press. Possession is then pushed forward into the opposition half, where Mooy is charged with unlocking the oppositions defence with the help of van La Parra and Kachunga, who play something of an inside forward role. Tactically it is an advanced system, and it is maybe no surprise that it took Wagner time to turn his ideas into points. He is a shining example, however, both that an expansive style of play can be effective below the Premier League, and just how much of a positive impact an innovative manager can have on a team.
