and Marco Rose's Salzburg beat one of the top teams in Germany 2-1 away.

after a 0-0 draw, RB Salzburg advance to the QF with a 2-1 aggregate win. And Marco Rose's unbeaten streak continues.

looks like Tuchel might be headed to PSG.

while Matthias Sammer seems headed to Dortmund.

    in other German coach news
-Zorniger's Brondby won their 1st game in the Championship Round as his team fight for the title and a shot at CL. Still in 1st place.

all 3 German coaches in Austria won.
-Marco Rose's 1st place RB Salzburg won 2-0. A team still in the EL QF, same one who beat Dortmund. Where they will face Serie A team Lazio. With his performances I'm sure Rose is attracting attention of better clubs/leagues.
    -Heiko Vogel's 2nd place Sturm won 5-1
-Thomas Letsch's 6th place Austria Wien won 2-1. Since coming on board in Feb 27, Letsch has only lost 1 game which was to Rose and won the other 3 games.

just realized that Uwe Rosler got fired from coaching League One's Fleetwood Town back in January. Not very well known as he's never coached in Germany, all of his jobs were in Scandinavia or England.

    Just curious...

Are Klose, Borkowski, Rolfes, Hitzlsperger, Metzelder and Seb. Kehl getting their coaching license next year?

    Or later this year??

I was wondering because there are reports saying Kehl is the new Dortmund coach next season

I remember him, Borkowski, Klose, Hitzlsperger, Metzelder, Rolfes and Owomoyela are all in the same coaching class

Kehl seems more management than coaching.

wow that list is like 2006-2008 nostalgia, lol.

Klose on the other hand seems interested in youth coaching, could see him start there. Seems like Bayern are a club interested in him. He could try after the 2018 WC.

    Klopp has Pep's number!!!

Liverpool beats Man City 3-0 at home, which means that Man City have 0 away goals. We seem headed towards having 2 German Coaches (or half the coaches) in the CL SF in Jupp and Klopp!!! Here's hoping one of those 2 wins the CL.

You know what's crazy Jupp has only played 4 seasons as coach in CL

97-98 season with Real WON CL
11-12 season with Bayern lost in the CL final
12-13 season with Bayern WON CL
17-18 season with Bayern seems headed towards a SF

now that's one consistent coach, having never flopped coaching in CL. Would not mind one bit if he wins 75% of his CL as coach, lol.

it's 4 seasons as a coach in CL.

he's coached Bayern back in 87-91 but that was the European Cup not CL. CL was established in 92.

so from his 4 seasons in CL he's getting close to all 4 being CL finals.

Marco Rose's RB Salzburg in a rare loss this season lost to Serie A's 5th place team Lazio 4-2. Still impressive given the Salzburg squad and scoring 2 away goals. And even if they are currently 5th Lazio are still in contention to end up #3-4 as #1-2 seems highly unlikely.

Though still think Rose's achievements will attract the attention of bigger clubs. He started the job in July 2017 so he's new at coaching at the top flight. Before this is CV is basically being a RB Salzburg youth coach where he won the UEFA Youth League last season with RB Salzburg's U19. And still in contention to win a double in the Austrian League and Cup in his 1st season. Let's not forget knocking out Dortmund in the EL, getting to the EL QF at the min and this 4-2 loss was his 1st loss in EL this season. Also Salzburg got eliminated from the CL Qualifiers after losing on away goals after being tied 1-1. So this really is the 1st loss in Europe this season.

    How Klopp became Pep's Kryptonite.
    https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/how-jurgen-klopp-became-pep-guardiolas-kryptonite

also seems like most reports are saying Tuchel is all but certain to be the next PSG coach. It's funny the amount of - reactions from the British media, I've seen. Stuff like he barely has any European experience. PSG ain't no Real Madrid yet Zidane coached that team with his only experience being a reserve team. LOL If a guy can coach the biggest club in Europe than Tuchel can coach PSG.

It's interesting that while Jupp is done after this season, seeing all the young German coaches in 1BL and lower levels that are pretty promising and of course guys like Tuchel/Klopp as well.

looks like Daniel Farke of Norwich is highly likely to require another season in order to try and get an EPL promotion. Norwich isn't going to get any promotion chance this season.

and the same for Ligue 2's Sochaux coach, Peter Zeidler. His team won 3-2 today but they are still 5 pts behind the last Ligue 1 playoff spot with 6 games left. It's doable but not convinced he'll manage, Sochaux keep losing points that they should have gotten.

well it's not too bad, both Farke and Zeidler were hired in Summer 2017, so this is their 1st season coaching their respective teams. And for Farke his 1st season coaching abroad in a new league, he lacks experience for sure, a resume that has him only coaching 4th and 5th division Germany to jumping at a 2nd division England job. Even Wagner needed 2 seasons to get Huddersfield promoted and even then he barely managed to do that, needing PK shootouts in both playoff games vs Sheffield Wednesday and Reading.

of course assuming they don't get fired.:p

-Klopp drew Everton 0-0, wasn't even the full squad. Obviously focusing on the CL 2nd leg vs Man City. And since they aren't winning EPL all that matters is to end up in the top 4 for CL next season. So losing 2 pts isn't that bad.

-Wagner drew Brighton 1-1, now that's a game with lost pts for sure. Huddersfield's goalie with a complete blunder. And Brighton also went to 10 men later on. They should have won that game, still they are on the safe side especially since all the lower teams didn't win any games.

-in Austria, German coach showdown, as Letsch's Austria Wien beat Vogel's 2nd place Sturm Graz 2-0. Since getting the job in Feb, Letsch has only lost 1 game that was vs RB Salzburg's German coach Marco Rose, winning the other 4.

-let's not forget that Norwich's Farke won 3-1 today but still unlikely to make any promotion playoff. I think the problem is that most of the German players taken this Winter there was like 4 of them, need time to get used to the Championship. It's another reason why next year they could have better chances than this year.

Tedesco loses to Titz, who wins his 1st game as Hamburg coach vs the 2nd place team Schalke. Even though they are 2nd place, been saying all season Tedesco's Schalke is very lacking team. He needs to do better next season, still it's his 1st season in the top flight and CL is within reach, which would be mission accomplished.

while Titz was the Hamburg reserve coach, I think if they get relegated he should still be kept and help rebuild. His job at the reserves has given him a lot of time with the younger players which the team should build on. With the win Hamburg are now 5 pts below the relegation playoff spot with 5 games to go. They play Hoff, Wolfsburg, Freiburg, Gladbach, Frankfurt.

    Alexander Zorniger's Brondby

on April 5 advanced to the Danish Cup SF
on April 8, trashed Horsens 5-1 to continue to lead the Danish title race at #1 with 8 games remaining. Having won both of their Championship Round games. What's at stake are Danish Championship and CL Qualifiers which is only accessible to 1st place.

still he has a shot at winning a double.

with Tuchel going to France. Now the only leagues lacking German coaches are Serie A and La Liga. Maybe Tedesco will coach in Italy one day. Always said that Tedesco as a German-Italian plays more like Italy.:p
