Bernd Hollerbach looks like the favorite candidate for HSV's coaching job. http://www.90min.de/posts/5954225-g...ist-angeblich-der-heisseste-kandidat-beim-hsv
seems like all the reports have Hollerbach as getting the job until the end of the season. Well good luck to him, and it's an interesting relegation battle this season, especially in light of Koln's comeback.

lol 42 years is the age difference between Jupp Heynckes (72) and Julian Nagelsmann (30). A Bundesliga all-time record when Bayern face Hoffenheim tomorrow - Jupp started his coaching career 8 years before Nagelsmann was born. pic.twitter.com/dU14V4tHym— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) January 26, 2018
150 – Jupp #Heynckes has won his 150th Bundesliga game as the coach of @FCBayernEN – only Ottmar Hitzfeld (158) and Udo Lattek (184) had more wins. Legend. #FCBTSG pic.twitter.com/10OCg5ZTB6— OptaFranz (@OptaFranz) January 27, 2018
Farke's Norwich wins 1-0 in the Championship as they beat #9 Brentford, to jump to 40 pts. As Ipswich lost it means that Norwich are now tied with them on 40. since Fulham won, it means the current final playoff spot is now at 48 pts. Still 8 pts behind, well here's hoping Sheffield United, Middlesbrough, Leeds, Preston all lose points when they play!!! although only Leitner from the 3 new Germans played, as he played 12 minutes. Was too early for Hernandez and Srbeny as they barely trained with team but still made the bench. Next game they could all be ready which is another big game as they play #8 Middlesbrough.

Following intensive discussions yesterday evening, which continued on late into the night as the current sporting situation was analysed, the decision was made that Hannes Wolf would no longer continue as head-coach of #VfB Stuttgart. pic.twitter.com/ne0QEXJUL0— VfB Stuttgart_int (@VfB_int) January 28, 2018
Peter Zeidler's Sochaux have won 1-0, now move to #8 on the table. only 5 pts behind 3rd place which is Ligue 1 playoffs 6 pts behind 2nd place which is direct Ligue 1 promotion getting closer and closer. meanwhile Klopp vs Wagner is still 0-0.
After Franco Foda was hired for the Austrian NT job, another German Heiko Vogel has taken over as head coach of Sturm Graz. Vogel's past credentials includes being in charge at Basel, Bayern Munich youth/reserves and assistant at Ingolstadt. Sturm Graz are currently first place in the Austrian Bundesliga after 20 match days, with a slight 1 point lead over Marco Rose's RB Salzburg. Looks like it's going to be a two horse race for the league title.
German coach vs German coach, that seems like fun. I hope Foda can get Austria together, never understood why a team with so many good players-prospects amount to nothing. Them and Turkey are underachievers given the amount of players they have.
Austria won 2-1 vs Uruguay in a friendly for Foda's debut so that should be pretty promising. They have some decent younger prospects coming up so the Euro 2020 qualification campaign should go better for them. I also wouldn't mind seeing if Sturm Graz can take the title. Salzburg of course have the greater depth and talent, but maybe Graz can be resourceful and tactical enough.
I think it's time for Austria and the Netherlands to start performing again. Kind of embarrassing that the Swiss are doing better. Would be nice to see more competitive neighbors. wouldn't mind if they win either, I don't really root for any RB team and they've won too many of the recent Austrian leagues. speaking of German coaches, yikes Huddersfield are now very close to the relegation zone and they play Man U next. I think Wagner made a big mistake in sticking to his squad. He needed reinforcements but now it's too late and they haven't won in awhile either. The team is also losing pts when facing other bottom clubs which is the biggest problem, they struggle to score or when they are down they are unlikely to comeback from any game.
Seems like Thomas Doll's Ferencvaros have been steadily on the rise in the Hungarian league. I know they started off slowly. But they've won 5 of their last 6 league matches, and now have a 3 point lead over Videoton after 19 MD.
update Sochaux trashed Gazelec 4-1, to now move to #7. now 2 pts behind 3rd place which is Ligue 1 playoffs. 4 pts behind 2nd place which is direct Ligue 1 promotion 24 games in with 12 to go but getting there!!!!
another big win for Farke's Norwich as they beat follow playoff hopeful Middlesbrough 1-0 to stay in contention for a playoff spot. Still 8pts behind the last playoff spot with 16 games remaining.
Alexander Zorniger's Brondy beat FC Copenhagen 1-0 to reach the QF of the Danish Cup. meanwhile Klopp's Liverpool draw CL spot rival Spurs 2-2 to stay in 3rd place, now 5pts behind Man U in 2nd.
David Wagner's Huddersfield win 4-1 in ET to beat Birmingham City to advance to the R16 where they will face off against Man U. That will be a tough match for sure. The win hopefully gives Huddersfield some confidence as they need pts in EPL. in other news, Peter Zeidler's Sochaux lost 4-1 to Ligue 1 side PSG. That's not bad result given how limited Sochaux really is compared to PSG's resources. Heck even Bayern under Ancelotti lost 3-0 to PSG, being unable to score.
shame Norwich drew 2nd place Derby 1-1. Should have won that game, as a Norwich player missed a PK .... they are still in 13th place and 8 pts away from a playoff spot. A win could have moved them to 10th place and only 6 pts away from the playoff.
