Klopp's Liverpool won 5-0 vs Swansea on Boxing Day, and will maintain their current 4th place spot in the EPL table ahead of Tottenham, Arsenal, and Burnley. While Wagner's Huddersfield drew 1-1 vs Stoke City. And in the Championship, Farke's Norwich City won 2-0 vs Birmingham.
I'm hoping Liverpool can overtake Chelsea or Man U to get a direct CL spot instead of having to play the Qualifiers. Huddersfield's good form means they seem headed towards another EPL season. as for Farke, unless they can go on a winning streak, they are unlikely to make the jump and likely require another season.
some France update, Peter Zeidler's Sochaux in Ligue 2 are #8 on the table. only 4 pts separate them from #3-5 which are playoff spots. While being 7 pts behind #2 Nimes (who have a game in hand). So even though #1-2 seem out of reach, the playoff spots aren't. Could be interesting to have a German coach and currently 2 German Youth players make the Ligue 1 jump.
They don't have to play cl qualifiers anymore in the top 4 leagues. Their first 4 teams qualify directly.
your right, it's the same for the Bundesliga, which means that rather than seeing a team like Hoff falling in the playoffs. We'll get 4 teams to the GS next season!
Liverpool buys Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk. That team's biggest problem is their weak defense/keepers, if those were better, Klopp's team would have been at least 2nd place as they wasted so many pts. Could also help them in CL.

Peter Zeidler's Sochaux in Ligue 2 in France who are very near the playoff spots for Ligue 1, today trashed Ligue 1 team Amiens SC 6-0 in the French Cup.

Farke's Norwich with an important 1-0 win vs 4th place Bristol. Now moves to 37 pts and edging closer to the playoffs, only 6pts away. Although sucks that the teams above had a few wins so I don't think they moved much on the table.

entertaining/cracking game between Liverpool and Man City, even with the loss of Coutinho. Liverpool beat City 4-3, revenge for earlier 5-0 loss. And with this Klopp gets his payback as well as giving Pep his 1st EPL defeat of the season and 2nd in all competition. win moves Liverpool to 3rd place above Chelsea while 2nd place Man U have a game in hand tomorrow. Getting closer to 2nd place after being in 4th-5th for so long.
Daniel Farke's Norwich City took Chelsea to extra time in the FA Cup after finishing 1-1 in regulation. However, they lost in the penalty shootout. During this match, 3 Chelsea players were booked for diving including Pedro and Morata who were both sent off.

big game for Farke tomorrow as Norwich takes on Sheffield United who are currently in the last playoff spot. Although other teams are still ahead of Norwich by a few pts and thus could still climb more, it still an important game vs another playoff hopeful.
Stefan Ruthenbeck's Koln have won their last 3 consecutive 1BL games. Before him they had 0 wins, now they have 3 and they went from 3 pts to 12 pts. I think the wins coincide with Terodde going to Koln and Hector being back from injury and giving them some stability in defense. will be interesting to see if they can stay in 1BL. I think the stats say that no team who had this low pts every stayed, but that was before the winning streak. I think Gisdol will get fired though.
