Georgie Best the Legend interviewed by the SJ Mercury stated " Foothill Soccer was the best and most entertaining he had witnessed in US." He was with the SJ Quakes at the time. Such a loss of Blessings not have him... The Best ever.
BTW, Foothill won the State Title and this is a post Match Celebration that Bestie joined the Team.

Did You Know? Pele and George Best never faced each other on the soccer field until both joined the NASL, and they only went head-to-head 3 times in the NASL. The New York Cosmos recorded a 6-0 win at Yankee Stadium on 17 May 1976 and later added a 5-2 victory at Giants Stadium on 26 June 1977 -- with Pele scoring 5 goals between the 2 games -- while the Los Angeles Aztecs posted a 4-1 win at the L.A. Coliseum on 2 July 1977.

George Best and Johan Cruyff only faced each other once in NASL play, a 5-4 win by the Washington Diplomats over the San Jose Earthquakes on 22 June 1980 at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC, in which both scored a goal. The NASL's unbalanced schedule meant their 1979 teams -- Best's Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Cruyff's Los Angeles Aztecs -- did not play each other at all, and only once in 1980.

Happy 68th birthday to Adrian Webster (number 16), the English midfielder who joined the expansion Seattle Sounders in 1974 and ultimately became team captain, leading the club to the Soccer Bowl '77 final and scoring 3 goals in 111 games, then closed out his career with 2 seasons in the MISL with the Pittsburgh Spirit )1979-80) and Phoenix Inferno (1980-81).
