I'm sure a majority of the FO didn't grow up around here or even follow MLS as a whole so they wouldn't know them on that level, but I'd bet they are aware of who they are with historical relevance to the team.
I asked specifically about Shawn Medved and Steve Rammel. I was told that Medved had been contacted. It's hard for me to get into the stadium for the beginning of the actual game, don't know how I'll manage getting in for this more important earlier game. I wish they'd let you out and back in, it would not be that hard.
Not sure if this belongs here or not (my bad if it doesn't) but speaking of El Diablo, he was in Cochabamba (Bolivia) last night as the Bolivian club, Jorge Wilstermann, had a historic win over River Plate (3-0) at a sell out crowd (the stadium was full 2 hours before the match) in the 1st leg of the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores. Marco visited River's locker room prior to the match and said hello to his old friend, Enzo Francescoli, a River Plate legend. Below is a picture. Based on Marco's 'red' eyes, El Diablo is still always ready for one more match or two.
This is an easy choice for me. That Etcheverry tribute match was putrid; I don't need to see any more like that.
Looking forward to meeting and talking to @rocheonair from @DC101 this afternoon at 4:25 and 4:50! Make sure to tune in!— Russell Canouse (@RussellCanouse) September 19, 2017
I forgot as well. That's on my drive home too, but I rarely ever put 101 on any more, they've really gone downhill. I think I was listening to a Tool CD instead I did used to enjoy Roche and Sebi Salazar's United podcast way back in the day. Anybody think to listen? I imagine it was the same old athlete-cliche-fest that most of these are, but you never know what interesting info may accidentally have come up.
FWIW, ex DCU forward Josh Wolff was among four coaching candidates interviewed recently by Colorado. They made a point of saying that these are by no means the "final four." It's interesting to think about ex-DCU players who have gone into the coaching ranks (besides Ben Olsen, of course): Williams; Llamosa; Onalfo; Wolff; Petke; Vanney - who am I missing?
Not at the moment. I wonder if his English has improved but if it has, I think he should be considered to coach DCU if and when there's an opening (at least Asistant Coach).
Nothing showed the current FOs cluelessness as the weak tribute to Clyde Simms at halftime a few years ago.
The curious case of Jaime Button... Jaime Moreno's in, are you? #LastCallatRFK | https://t.co/iHXWK32L1j pic.twitter.com/J8ECZngV9j— D.C. United (@dcunited) October 11, 2017
