that sucks for Brian. they guy is a great guy and clearly the effects linger badly. I wish he could be alright, I hate to say it but its really sad to hear and talk to him now. Hes just not there
You could almost stock a team with United players whose careers have been cut short by concussion issues: Eskandarian; Gros; Namoff; Rolfe; et. al.

Talon and some of the team went to the WH Easter egg roll...and then kicked it around with the lad from 1600 Penn linky to insider's story
Even if "the lad's" father never preyed upon ignorance and hatred, even if the "the lad's" father never gloated about his serial sexual assaults, even if "the lad's" father wasn't a clown who humiliates the nation every goddamned day before breakfast, I would still hate "the lad's" father for wanting to kick Miguel Aguilar out of the country. Fück his fücking father.
Story about perennially overlooked Patrick Nyarko http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/jun/29/patrick-nyarkos-return-from-injury-sparks-dc-unite/
Anyone who's watched this team consistently in 2016 and 2017 and doesn't think Nyarko makes this team better is misguided or intentionally negative
He does of course but if given the chance to actually make D.C. United good and not bad like they are nearly entirely right now I wouldn't hesitate to move him.
Definitely a trade where we can benefit. I don't think he'd become to another team what Rolfe became to us so we wont regret it. We haven't really felt Pontius's loss and he hasn't done much as Philly. Unlike Pontius I think we could get a good piece for him even if it cost an international slot or some allocation on top to sweeten it.
We need more creativity on the ball like he has, and, importantly, on the field with him and Acosta at the same time. Personally, I'd trade Sam and Neagle, combined, before I'd trade Nyarko.
I would have called him perennially injured. When United acquired him, I was hesitant not because of his capabilities but because of his injury and concussion history. He was never going to last a full season.
Nice (ish) story on Persistent Infringement from DCU's last game, re: Acosta I say ish because they call it out as a good example, which it sorta was, but would have been much better if he didn't wait until the 82nd minute when the game was already decided, due in part to the previous persistent fouling of Acosta, to finally say something. But I suppose it beats nothing and letting them injure him for no reason in the last 8 minutes. http://proreferees.com/2017/07/12/play-of-the-week-19-persistent-infringement/
That article is crap. If that is MLS refereeing, the 82nd minute "warning" is like doing a lifeboat drill on the Titanic as it slips beneath the waves. So, PRO says its OK to foul the crap out of a talented player all game and then, at the last minute tell said team "no mas." I get -- ass clowns.
I'm hoping they promoted it as "all good" so that other refs would see it and feel better about doing that sort of thing themselves. Maybe 40 minutes earlier. I am not sure why I am having optimistic thoughts about a referee site ......
