Sad news: Nura announced his retirement after another knee setback at the age of 21, Roma have offered him a job with the youth team. He was our biggest talent coming from the youth team a few years ago that even top European clubs were trying to buy him before playing a single game for the senior team. Unfortunately he got decimated by knee and heart problems and never had a chance to show his worth.
Thankfully it was detected young or he could have been another stat. Good to see Roma give him a chance to make a new career.
A special guest watched training at Trigoria today, just days after retiring as a player - Juan! 👋🐺🇧🇷 #ASRoma @juanj4oficial pic.twitter.com/8Gn8H05WG2— AS Roma English (@ASRomaEN) May 8, 2019 The great man is disgusted.

Solano talked with someone with the club; if we qualify for 6th (El qualifiers) the club will pull out of the ICC. Sorry to those who wanted to go to matches.

That’s a foolish thought. Senior management is on the same page."
I hope its true that he will play as a pivot, I think he has what it takes to be great in that position.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I don't mind if he's comfortable playing anywhere in midfield, personally. Gotta have a couple of guys capable of playing 10/Pivot if we're rolling with dudes like Nzonzi and Pastore who can only play one.
Dude has been exposed as liar time and time again ("Totti chose coach " etc etc),Pallotta douchebag of highest order. The dumb letter he wrote, is worth printing it out and using it as toilet paper nthg more.
Damn, Lorenzo started at LW for Italy today. Shots: 4 (tied for 1st) Key passes: 5 (1st) Dribbles: 3 (2nd) Unsuccessful touches: 0 (1st) Crosses: 11 (1st) 2nd closest was 5 Through-balls: 2 (1st) I didn't watch the game, but my boy put in a MotM worthy performance from what I'm reading.... at LW. Patience.
People keep clamoring for Barella, yea he's good but he has a lot to prove at a bigger club. Lorenzo is only 8 months older and has played in the pressure cooker of Roma and played in CL. People, including a lot of DS, are always to quick to chase the "next great thing" while ignoring what they have.
Eh, I understand why people love Barella, tbh. I'm a big fan too. But yeah, if Lorenzo was still at Sass, who knows how people would be looking at him. He'd certainly have the benefit of being more of a protagonist like Barella. He scored 6 in his last season with Sass as a 20-year-old whilst Barella's scored 7 for his entire career. Different players, I know, but still. I've dug more into Lorenzo's stats, and the guy averaged 2 key passes/game from open play. I was under the impression his stats were really inflated by set-pieces, but after digging some more, it's really not the case. Also, he had a 0.46xG/A per 90, which again, as a 22-year-old who played 10/Pivot is super impressive whilst compared to his peers in the entirety of Europe. He should've finished with at least 9 goal involvements this season had we finished better and our team wasn't so lackluster as a whole. Even his dribbling numbers and defensive output is more than adequate. What he does struggle with is passing % and turnovers which, for me, is a result of him being too much of an "all-or-nothing" decision maker in the final 3rd. Sometimes the safe choice is the best choice, and that's just something he needs to learn with time. Ultimately, I dunno what position is best for him going forward. I just know pigeon-holing a guy who just turned 23 isn't overly wise. There's a reason big clubs want this kid outside of his release clause.
Excellent analysis. I do agree sometimes his decision making was not the greatest but, IMO, that can be attributed to a couple things. First, he's still pretty young and playing in a difficult environment like Roma. With time I think he'll learn that every pass doesn't need to be a 'highlight reel' pass. Second, I touched on this when talking about Fonseca, Roma for the last few years have been very impatient in the final 3rd looking to break a defense down immediately. Instead of being patient, working the ball around, moving the defense and then looking for that opening they would make a risky pass and turn the ball over. I really hope that we can start building this club with the foundation being; Lorenzo, Zaniolo (if he gets his head on straight) and Riccardi if what I read about him is accurate.
