damn, just frustrates me more. Dzeko is a machine when he wants to be, as good a ST as there is in the game. Sadly there are just too many games he doesn't give a shit about.

You're crazy. It's not just his scoring.. his overall play in the CL is world class. Just look at Porto. Zaniolo, rightfully, is getting a lot of kudos for his play but, without Dzeko neither of those goals happen. That control and pass on the 1st goal was world class. I'm not sure Roma are going to afford a ST/CF that can play like that constantly in the CL.. those guys are expensive.

I agree 100%.. here's my but. I'm a math nerd, I like to play the odds. Every player Roma can afford is a risk, to some degree or another. We know exactly what we have in Dzeko. In my mind there is a greater probability of another player (we can afford) coming in and bombing in the CL than of Dzeko bombing. The real problem is Schick didn't develop. I'm sure Monchi's plan was to bring on Schick and have him gradually take over that roll for Dzeko (again, every player even one as regarded as Schick is risky). Now Roma are left in the position of having and older ST being forced to be our everyday player. Ideally Schick will turn it around and become that player allowing them not to depend on Dzeko.. but I'm having my doubts.
The 4 assists kinda surprises me. Well done, Edin. 3 outta the last 4 games have been solid , which is all you can really ask for in a small sample size.
For me, if we make the CL you keep him even if you only play him in CL matches and against bigger clubs in SA. If we don't, I'm ok selling him.
