I hope so. I'm all for extremely promising young talent, but we need to replace our starters first unless we are planning on going in a different direction for a few years.

Just for the record Foyth has been officially signed either.

Has anyone actually seen this guy though? Was going through his profile and noticed that he's already 20 years old but has just 4 senior appearances under his belt, whereas Lamela had like 36 appearances for River at the ripe old age of 18 when Roma bought him. It would worry me if we go for this guy who couldn't even break the starting 11 at Estudiantes at age 20...

yea, that was my concern as well. I'm all for signing prospects but for the rumored prices.. that's just too much for a club like Roma to gamble on a young player with no experience.

People want to crucify the new sporting director 2 weeks into his first market, ridiculous.

The fans complain about Roma not doing their jobs but the toxic atmosphere some of them create are the reason we can't grow. If we let these people work with just a little less scrutiny we'd be more successful.

La Roma non si discute. Si ama.

Italian love is a paradox. One second its pure and then the next daggers appear as if betrayed by Venus herself.

A fair number of back-back tough games, although they're at least spread out. No months that look like death.

Atalanta away and then Spalletti's Inter after is a hell of a test for Di Francesco to start the season.

Stems from him dobbing in Roma's ultras to the police after he was hounded by them during a 3-0 loss to Fiorentina in the EL two years ago.

If Manolas doesn't play better vs Seville I'd be happy to sell him for the right price. He's arguably been the worst CB so far this summer.

Still a few teams to be decided, but this is what the pots are looking like for Thursday's draw:

    Pot 1

Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Juventus, Monaco, Spartak Moscow, Benfica, Shakhtar Donetsk

    Pot 2

Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla, Manchester City, Porto, Manchester United

    Pot 3

Napoli, Tottenham, Basel, Olympiakos, Anderlecht, Roma, Besiktas, Liverpool

    Pot 4

Celtic, CSKA Moscow/Young Boys, Copenhagen/Qarabag, Sporting CP/Steaua, APOEL/Slavia Prague, Feyenoord, Maribor, RB Leipzig

Spartak Moscow, Benfica, and Shakhtar would be dream pot 1 draws

There is the potential for a lot of fun matchups in the group stage. Chelsea, Dortmund, Roma, Celtic would be a really fun group to watch.

I'm done with fun groups, I want an easy one. We can all have fun watching Bayern rip us apart in the quarter finals.

We have about 60% chance of getting a good draw, so you are probably right.

I said this last year and given Monchi is probably going to take a couple of years to build the squad I'll say it this year. I would actually be ok if we played well in the group, got knocked out and won the EL.

Still my biggest complaint / regret regarding Roma was the EL last year. We could have won that. Spalletti deciding to play a strong squad in the CI really cost us both, IMO.
