I think that "snippet" is my favorite English word. I am going to use it more often. Always a joy to put that in there somewhere in a conversation or post. Anyway, here an update on the Eredivisie ranking in an alternative way:
PSV is leaps and bounds the best side in the Eredivisie this season. They will win the title easy this year, no contest. Unless Ajax can find some reliables defenders and Feyenoord a striker.
For the past three years PSV has absolutely collapsed after the winter break. I wouldn't count on any team winning the championship right now as this league often goes down to the last match day irrespective of who is on top in December.
His coach has opted to put him as a DM, therefore, he's no longer involved in making offensive play as he used to be.
The 'problem' is that Sinkgraven is not terrible as a DM.. He uses his football intelligence wel to dispossess his opponent. Even in physical duels he isn't terrible.. That's why he is still deployed as a DM, even tough he is obviously an attacker. Btw, he had a really good assist:
Sinkgraven could probably play anywhere effectively because he's intelligent and athletic (though he should get a bit stronger). He should be used as a more attack minded player though as that's where he thrives...though he could be a very effective central midfielder if the play goes through him with his ability to control the ball, make good space and passing range.
Yes Sinkgraven could play CM or DM but I think that for the sake of the NT he should play AMF, he could be on the casting for the Sneijder replacements. Other actors are Maher, Ziyech, maybe Vilhena. So lets hope Sinkgraven will be used in that role! Cheers!
Yeah agreed but I see Klassen for the CM spot battling with MVG, Strootman, that kind of player, I mean, do you think Klassen could be a good ¨10¨? Cheers!
Anyone knows where I can follow Eredivisie U19, some place like Whoscored or squawka or something like that? Cheers!
I only follow Ajax and the Ajaxtalk.nl forum is very good at tracking all the youth. Most of the comments are in Dutch although there is a US forum in English.
Out of curiosity what is the opinion on Vejinovic here? Seems to be having a massive breakout season with Vitesse but I do not watch them much. He is only 24, though that is a bit old for a breakout in the Eredivisie, his numbers are quite fascinating.
1-1 final score in the Derby of the North. Closely contested battle but Heerenveen certainly created the better attacks. Annoyed by some missed penalty calls. Groningen players were clearly frustrated towards the end, and resorted in some bad fouls. Let's go Fean, we'll take the next derby matchup at our home.
Great start to the new year for Heerenveen, winning 2-1 away at Utrecht. Quality contributions from the wing players Slagveer and Larsson, connecting on some clever sequences. Sinkgraven was often challenged by the physical play of the opponents but he kept calm and delivered with a high passing completion rate. I'm liking the look of this team going into the second half of the season. Thern and Namli are both good new additions who will provide even more depth. Sweet team play on the second goal:
Quite an upset in fourth round of the KNVB Cup. Roda JC score in extra time to win 3-2 over PSV Eindhoven and advance onto the quarter-finals.
This is really bad for the Eredivisie. With Twente vs AZ in the quarters there is a 75% chance of a team with a low UEFA coefficient winning it. The ranking in Europe can't afford passengers next year.
The key for both Twente and AZ is whether they can keep their top players after this season. This is the main reason I'm ruling out Vitesse's chances. There's been considerable interest for Pröpper and Vejinovic, with both likely to leave in the next transfer window.
