I don't think we'll see Gazelec next year in L1 because they won't be able to meet the regulations of the league. They need a better budget, a better stadium, etc. Moustache ******** (league president Thiriez) is probably gonna do everything in his power to make them stay in L2 like he did with Luzenac.
They can just play in AC Ajaccio's stadium. As for budget I dont think there's a minimum requirement.
luzenac (imo) had no business in L2; their REAL home field wasn't even flat and probably wouldn't be homologated for DH play in ligue rhone-alpes or IdF. auxerre played in L1 for years with a population smaller than the capacity of their stadium but luzenac boasts SIX HUNDRED SOULS. they moved to foix just to play in CFA and then N. when they won promotion to L2 they never presented a realistic plan to find a place to play "aux normes" and only the hubris of the fab fab and his cool cronies led to their tragedy; they should have been perfectly happy in N. enough said of the saga of cab'n crik. nothin' never comes to no good up on Choctaw ridge. gazelec playing in francois-coty? I think ACA fans would burn it down first. which wouldn't be a bad idea in the absolute because THAT s***hole has never really met L2 norms either... but that's a different story.
I really like what I saw here. Yeah there's not over 19,000 people in the stands but you can see there's something slowly building towards being a viable professional club.
Btw, I just want to give props to Marseille Consolat because I believe they had the smallest budget in the league and they already have survived being relegated and are safe. The dream of a 2nd pro club in Marseille continues...
