Looks like Nantes fielded an ineligible player against Bastia when they substituted in Touré in the 2nd half who was suspended due to yellow cards with the reserve team from last season. Should DQ them for the match and give the win to Bastia, might prove costly in the relegation battle.

atrocious rookie mistake. the fact that a suspension earned in the reserves carries over to the pro team may not have been obvious to them but it's not like double secret probation; a phone call would have sufficed, and they had all summer to make it. for me, the rank amateurism underlying the incident bodes worse than the loss of 3 points.

Djordjevic had some unkind words for his employer and the screwup with the ineligible player.

    NICE WIN FOR NICE VS
    Rennes !

Nice looked a lot better than vs Lyon today, also Bastia much improved from the Nantes games, nice to see Adama Ba score. Mads Albæk won the danish battle against Kjaer as well, scoring on his debut.

I'm slightly worried that as the pressure on Wenger to buy something increases, combined with Aulas hunger for money and salary slashing we may see at least one of the two in that partnership venture up to London before the 2nd of September. But even as Marseille fan I'd hope that they can continue to perform throughout the season as I have to admit that Lyon has been pretty fun to watch so far.

Great atmosphere at Nice today ... oh, that's right, the fans were banned. :whistling:

Kjaer is going to lose quite a few battles this year if he plays like he did at Roma.

Arsenal have 2 creative midfielders and really need a holding midfielder more than anything right now, so as long as they dont latch onto Gonalons, I dont think the fans would appreciate Wenger desperately overspending on one of either Grenier or Gourcuff right now.

You gotta hold on both until after you play Sociedad. You need them to help qualify and get that money. If you beat Sociedad then you can sell and breath a sigh of relief knowing you qualified and got the Champions League money in the coffers. They should have waited until after the 2nd Grasshoppers leg to sell Lisandro. They barely squeaked by. Maybe they learned their lesson.

Leonardo is in Paris to appeal his ban. If that fails, he could appeal it in court. If that fails, he will go on an extended honeymoon with his soon-to-be wife.

Great article. Why do greedy investors always have to meddle with a formula that works? reminds me of "4 Year Plan", the documentary about QPR.
