I think the title race is finally over now. I dont see how PSG can stumble and let other teams back in it.

Rennes doing well and getting back Pitroipia was was MVP of the CAN. Looks like OL and OM both could fall out of the top 3. Thats not good for our UEFA Coff. but OM and OL have no money to buy good players anymore so whats the difference I guess.

OL have the best youth development in France and Barca have already proven that its more effective to develop players than to buy them at exorbitant prices.

Doesnt matter because now the big foreign clubs are buying up young talent from abroad thus you wont be able to keep them long. Newcastle last window signed a 20 year old from Nancy and they also wanted Thauvin from Bastia. Yes you have more money are a bigger club than Nancy or Bastia but perhaps instead of Newcastle you'll lose your best 20 year olds to Chelsea or Man City instead. In the old days it was different but unfortunately times have changed. Bosman and foreign sugar daddies changed everything and the EPL got way more power.

Lyon might always have one of the best youth academies in Europe but it doesn't matter if you have other clubs that can pump $250m worth of new players into the squad any time they please.

If the prestige of the league increases and they could actually keep the players they develop, then it might be a different story.

PSG vs Valenica is an interesting matchup because it signifies the problem with football. Clubs with owners from faraway lands who have bottomless pockets who will spend whatever it takes to win and clubs with massive debt who are still allowed to play at Europe's highest level. Final Fairplay is trying to change all that but lets see what happens. If Valencia played in France they'd be relegated and stripped of all their talent. The DNCG would crush them.

with two Lyon castaways as their fullbacks. :)

cool that Puel was able to field his own son in a competitive match, though.
