Since we aren't rushing for a meeting, I'm all for a footy-friendly pub. (except for that one in Clayton)

    Scottish Arms (SLU)
    Llywelyn's Pub (CWE, Downtown, Webster)
    The Dubliner (Downtown)
    Helen Fitzgerald's (Lindbergh & Watson)

I think Llywelyn's in Webster or Helen Fitzgerald's might be the most central locations, unless people don't mind driving a bit.

I don't care what location, I trust you guys on this one.

Did it occur to anyone else that we founded our supporters club the same day Bonds hit 756? It will be a day remembered by baseball fans for sure, so it should be easy for us to remember as well. Thought that was funny.

Llywelyn's CWE or Webster work for me. I'd go to Helens if most people are coming from SoCo, though it's not the most ideal for me.

Also, if we plan to make any group appearances at SLU games, Scottish Arms could be a good pre or post match spot.

Its awesome that the supporters are finally gonna have a meeting. I can only show up on Tues or Wed, and I live in St. Charles, so West Co is cool with me.

I will ask again, is there a big opposition to a saturday meeting? I mean, I know we all have real lives on the weekends, but I would be willing to set aside a couple of hours on the weekend?

For a weeknight, how does next Tuesday sound?

    Re: Supporters Group Meeting

This weekend I'm out but otherwise I don't have a problem with that
As far as week days, I coach on Tuesdays - I could make it after 8:00, but other nights would be better.

Sir, I think those were for this current week only (at least for me it was)

I'm good all this next week (excepting Tuesday coaching duties)

Monday 20th - first day for kids going back to school - won't work

    Saturday's are good for me.

During the week, Tues. or Thurs. would be best.

    Re: Supporters Group Meeting

Given the above, it looks like Thursdays and Saturdays are best.

    Please respond:

(I know things come up, but speaking generally)
Which is generally better for you:

Thursday or Saturday or doesn't matter?

Please note if you absolutely can't make a day or if it is just easier on a day

    Ex:
    SportBilly
Thursday is better for me and preferred.
Saturdays maybe difficult to make but with enough notice I could probably make it.

    Re: Supporters Group Meeting

I can make either day, but on Thurs. I have an occasional commitment at 9:00pm and would have to leave early.

Saturday isn't a problem with advanced notice.

Sorry. Haven't had much access to the Internet lately. I'm cool with meeting this Saturday. Thursdays are usually okay for me as well.

I'd also like to request a meeting at Scottish Arms at some point. :)

    Re: GCSC: Meeting?

It sounds like Thursdays work great. However, with the new development in the Post and the Collinsville city council meeting on Monday, should we meet a little early? Say 7pm? Just so we know who we are and can sit together.

I'll be at the SIUE game. I live over in Illinois, but I'm willing to cross the river for a meeting. We should definately meet up before the game and probably work something out for the Monday presentation.

Hey guys. Just to let you know, there's a site called urbanstl, and while people there are more "urbanists" than they are soccer fans, there's a lot of buzz going on about a new MLS team. I'm sure people there are willing to meet up and share what they know. We have a lot of developers, architects, and important city-people as members.

    Check it out.

I have been a longtime reader of Urbanstl and I would agree with Xing. The posts are a little more infrequent, but they are on a much broader range of topics. But some would be interesting to people interested in this stadium. For instance I would imagine people would be interested in metrolink developments, the new river bridge, other information about Eastport (which I guess this thing is in?), and lots more interesting stuff.

Have a great time at the game tomorow. I won't be there, but I will expect a recap. I will be in Collinsville on Monday. I will be busting out my brand new Celtic scarf I bought at Dick's Sporting Good Park. I will probably wear my Freddy Adu US Nats jersey. Hey.....it was cheap!

    Re: Supporters Group Meeting

As long as the location is reasonable (I'm pretty central, so that should be easy enough) most days are good for me - I've got a 9-5 job and no kids, so I'm pretty flexible.

Besides, some of us are going to Collinsville on Monday.

If Thursday works for most people we should probably keep the energy going and meet this week (8/16).

Are there still some votes for meeting at The Scottish Arms or O.B.Clarks?
