Starts for U23s: #NFFC Under 23s v @Official_ITFC: Evtimov, Charlesworth, Lam, Ahmedhodzic, Iacovitti, Ariyibi, Edser, Tshibola, Carayol, Teixeira, Vellios— Nottingham Forest (@NFFC) March 13, 2017 @bungadiri @Friedel'sAccent Let's update to Gboly Ariyibi at Nottingham Forest
Here's an article in which the writer argues that Scunthorpe should acquire him. Certainly I think there should always be Yanks at Scunthorpe. http://www.scunthorpetelegraph.co.u...scunthorpe-united-transfers-14-players-118008
Erm, not to be a Debbie Downer, but is there any, you know, actual evidence that the lad is looking for a move, or that Forest want to sell him, or even that anyone wants to buy?
Loaned to Milton Keynes Dons in League One: 📝 #NFFC can confirm that midfielder @GbolyAriyibi has joined @MKDonsFC on a season-long loan deal. https://t.co/iBtenKdeOL pic.twitter.com/2eMoAJnmES— Nottingham Forest (@NFFC) July 17, 2017 @bungadiri -- Let's update title to: Gballin! Gboly Ariyibi at MK Dons
Ouch... 22 years old and loaned out to League 1. If he could get PT in with Forest this year that would have been huge. I know..late bloomer, and look at so and so...but 22 years old this is not the idea career trajectory, and never got a sniff at the 1st time last year. Either way, i like his skill set (super flashy, speedy winger type), and his name rocks the house down.

I always thought he had the physical and technical tools to succeed but it looks from this that he has issues learning the game for this level.
He just came from League 1, so this indicates that's his current level, or at least a tweener between that and the Championship, although it would have been nice if he actually got an opportunity to prove he was better. He can still improve, but time is ticking on him at 22, going on 23 this season. He wasn't a collegiate. This will be his 5th season since making his pro debut. Can't use (in)experience as much of an excuse then.

Lost 1-0 in opener vs Wigan. Can't find much, but a few quotes: - Ariybiyi got caught in possession too much for my liking, seemed to over complicate it but did get a little bit of success. - MK Dons midfielder Gboly Ariyibi had a free-kick go close.
