What do you think was the greatest game in 2011? My top 5: 1. Barcelona-Real Madrid 3-2, Super Copa 2nd leg. 2. United-City 1-6 3. Chelsea-Arsenal 3-5 4. Barcelona-United 3-1 5. Inter-Schalke 2-5 HM: Spurs-Arsenal 3-3.
My Favorite was Santos vs Flamengo 4:5 (Neymar vs Ronaldinho) Santos scored 3 goals in first half and thought they finished the game (with Neymar scoring his great goal). Only for Flamengo to come back with Ronaldinho scoring a Hattrick and then win. Great game which shows the unique taste of Brazilian football. Arsenal 2 - 1 Barcelona Has to be. Arsenal played a ridiculously high defensive line trying to play an attacking passing game - and actually managed to win - with a beautiful goal in the last 10 minutes, despite barca passing them off the pitch at times with beautiful football. No defensive tactics that ruin some big games involving barca. The technical quality and passing in that game was immense, on one side there's messi, xavi, iniesta, busquets, on the other there's fabregas, van persie, wilshere, and nasri Barcelona 5 - 0 Real madrid was the most inspirational game although it was in 2010
From the games I've seen in 2011: Barca - Real M 3:2 - Supercup 2nd leg Chelsea - Arsenal 3:5 Man U - Man C 1:6
I would go with a couple from the U17 WC. Mexico over Germany 3-2 in semis and Germany over Brazil 4-3 (I think it was 4-3, maybe 5-4) in third place match Those games were awesome
Dont know why people are saying the chelsea-arsenal game. That game was a joke, the only thing great about it was the comedy value, and all the twists and turns
I mostly agree with the first few posts. Spanish Super Copa, Chelsea x Arsenal, Bayern x Inter and Inter x Schalke stand out for me as well. Some other good memories from: - Vasco 5:2 Universitario (5-4 aggregate) - Blackpool 4:3 Bolton That's what makes a match memorable. Besides, the second-half wasn't that "comical". Arsenal played solid defense. Pretty much played Chelsea off the park which nobody saw coming earlier in the match. The unpredictability-factor was high which also makes for great drama.
Inter - Bayern 0:1 (CL) Inter - Schalke 2:5 (CL) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jObF-QXgiGY"]Galaxy - RSL 3:1 (WCF, MLS)[/ame]
I'm gonna go with USA 2-2 Brazil (5-3 PK) at the Women's World Cup. No hype, it really was an amazing football match. http://www.fifa.com/womensworldcup/highlights/video/video=1472619/index.html
