RSL plays at the LA Galaxy. Both RSL and LA lost their last game, so which team will want to win and which team will just want to watch the after-game fireworks? Prediction: a 1-1 tie.
If Wingert plays, we lose, 2-0. If Tony comes back at right back and Wingert isn't in the 18, we draw 1-1. I have become more and more convinced that he is a huge part of the issues with defense. When they re-signed him this last year, along with Schuler and Horst, I had a huge sense of dread coming into this season. Time and time again he is caught out, not able to clear his lines and always in the wrong position.
Yeah, playing RSL always seems to be just what the doctor ordered to stop another team's losing streak.
It was for a stomp later in the game. I haven't rewatched the video, but during the game it didn't seem intentional, but I was also only half tuned into the game at that point. We got a free kick on the play, and it seemed more like their legs were tangled more than anything. I'll have to see if I can find the video.
LA is the worst home team in the league by far, which gives some small measure of optimism. Also: it's a day for celebrating, so why not that too?
I saw the replay of when Silva and the defender got tangled up. RSL got the foul called in their favor, but at the end of the exchange it is clear that Silva gets an intentional kick back /stomp to the defender's groin area(you know where).
I think I'm going to change my prediction. I'm feeling optimistic today. I think we pull out an upset. 2-1
Prediction: RSL gives up a goal in the first 15 mins, and it's Boateng that scores. Just playing the odds.
OK...on the bright side...LAG going to be missing a few players--Van Damme (red card), Zardes (Gold Cup), Jones has been injured and Dos Santos uncertain after Confed Cup. Let's not dwell on the not bright side...
LA have the worst home record and we suck when we go to LA (and also, this year in general). What happens when a stoppable force meets a movable object? I'll be tuned in fueled by sheer curiosity.
Plata Yura Savarino Rusnak KB Mulholland Phillips Maund Glad Beltran Rimando Bench: Lalo, Schuler, Wingert, Acosta, Saucedo, Lennon, Velazco Seems like the subs are easy enough to guess for this game. Happy Wingert isn't starting, but would probably prefer Acosta starting. I'm at work during this and not even sure if I want to put the effort in to watch this. I'll probably wind up having it on in the background and glancing to see how soon we're scored on.
Are RSL games televised in the Boise area? I thought they were, but it didn't really matter, until today, when I'm stuck in Nampa waiting for an auto mechanic to open up tomorrow . . .
Here on the Palouse, the game ends right about time to go stake out a spot to watch the city fireworks. Perfect 4th.
For whatever reason, Chrome destkop remote decided to not play sound. Probably for the best. I'm casually watching this one hoping for a miracle.
Rusnak coming into goal sure felt a lot different than Yura doing the same thing. 1-0, and deservedly so.
