I'll take a stab at this. Seems there are tumbleweeds blowing through the forum right now. I'm expecting very little in this one. Anything close to a point would be a miracle, no matter how bad SJ may seem. We just aren't very good - especially away from home. Rusnak is away with on international duty. The only players listed on the injury report earlier this week are Barrett and Phillips. However, I expect certain players coming back from injury (Sunny, Allen, Schuler, and Horst) to be held out of starts for this one. The starting XI: Rimando Tony, Glad, Maund, Acosta KB, Luke Brooks, Savarino, Plata Silva Bench: VanO, Wingert, Horst, Bofo, Sunny, Allen, Yura Prediction: 3-1 Loss
No Kyle for this one: Notice of Suspension Player Suspension (as of June 20, 2017) Reason Abu Danladi (MIN) 6/24 vs. VAN Red card Derrick Jones (PHI) 6/24 vs. DC Red card Kyle Beckerman (RSL) 6/24 at SJ Yellow card accumulation Michael Bradley (TOR) 6/23 vs. NE Yellow card accumulation Sebastian Blanco (POR) 6/25 vs. SEA Red card Roy Miller (POR) 6/25 vs. SEA Yellow card accumulation
SJE apparently just signed a new DP. He won't be here though, until the summer trade window. The MLS website reaction has been mixed. I think RSL will surprise. With rimando, glad, and acosta in the back, the defense WILL NOT LEAK. There it is. I am calling it. Maund obviously is the weakest link. But i think rimando and glad can compensate. RSL is playing as the underdog. no reason to succeed. its the only way our team has ever competed well. 2-1 rsl
yes SJ has lost one home game this year. They've tied 4 and won 3, so I guess there is a chance of that but come on. The last time this team played on the road we lost 4-1 to a ********ing USL side.
This will be their 6th game in 20 days. It is a "gimmie game" at home, against arguably the worst team in the league, that just hemorraged 2 5 goal games back to back in recent history. This has upset written all over it, in our favor.
I owe you all an apology, I described your team as woeful in our pre-game thread and for that I'm sorry. We know what it's like to have a horrendous year, it just happens we're having a mediocre season so we look at it as a win-win.
Personally I don't see a chance in hell we get a point in this match. Due to a wedding tomorrow night I will watch it on tape delay so I can fast forward to the end when it starts getting real bad in the forth minute. Either way the wedding and a tape delay soccer match will be better than watching Brian Head Burn from my porch.
It's ok, we're that bad. I'm sure during our best seasons we were trash talking other teams that were doing bad, so it's only fair that we're on the receiving end now. I'm sure most of us are jealous of your mediocre season and would trade in a heartbeat.
I dunno...I saw the fire two nights ago from the freeway on my way south, and wished I'd had some time to stop and watch for a bit. It looked awesome in a devastating sort of way. I don't feel like I can learn any lessons about prudence or the danger of elemental power watching an RSL take another dump on the road.
It is pretty awesome, but after 7 days watching and wondering if it will take away your home and business, I am ready for anything but.
Going with 0-2 loss at SJE. 29 shots produced one fluke goal against a bad team lat week....at the RioT. I don't see it getting better. It won't be Texas-trip bad, but it will be bad. While our CBs looked halfway decent against a bad team, Wondo is just the type of striker to make them pay for their errors. Also, they won't have KB in front of them.
Nope. I genuinely like the RSL fans, the ones I've met at the Quakes games have been really mellow and nice, unlike the LA "fans" who can eat a bag of dicks for being such douchenozzles. I have no animosity towards any of you.
