IT makes money for those federations but the ACN had been held in January-February since its existence. No one cared until European clubs started signing African players. I do agree that the wait should have been 3 years instead of back to back years. the Asian Cup is also held in January too, but since there are not many prominent Asian players in Europe, no one cares. (that and its every 4 years)
That's a fair point. And if it was once every four years, it'd be less objectionable. It drives me crazy that the Gold Cup is every two years. And they're going to do Copa America back to back here soon too. But to have three federation tournaments in four years? What's that even accomplish... There has to be some consistent international calendar though. And the cycle should be WC - Federation Cup - WCQ - WC. That would at least keep international soccer entertaining and different. As it is, I've never been more bored. Anyway, I think I've gone off topic /end rant
According to some Mumbo jumbo articles, theo has interest from Bayern and Dortmund.... His agent must be hard at work, throwing out team names...
Hey, Australia did bid, the WC would have been in our winter, not our fault we dont have enough oil money haha
By all accounts, he did quite well for Liverpool yesterday. I hope he does well......back in that small club near Plaza de Castille.
The linesman was taking a snooze break on the goal because Sahin looked offside to me.I just don't see Sahin running with the big dogs.
Maybe he can't be assed with 'big dogs' like liverpool - a mediocre midtable side - when he has already excelled at a higher level. Dortmund are a much better side that Liverpool.
OK, so he won a beauty contest. Speaking in real terms about how we would fit with us, he doesn't replace Cazorla's offense or Arteta's defense. From having seen the beginning of the season only, so far, it would seem that Arsene was thinking about Zahin in the role Diaby is currently playing. Would you play Zahin or Diaby in that role, as your primary starter? I would play Diaby.
Supposedly part of the reason we didn't end up getting Sahin was that Wenger was worried about a lack of pace.
I like Sahin and I wanted to get him. He's got the kind of quality you don't pass on lightly. Having said that, after seeing the tactical shift we've made this year, I don't see where he fits for us. I think I'm glad we passed.
We def are stacked at midfield IF Wilshere makes the comeback. I havent watched the Coventry game but Coquelin so far looks solid and we even have Yennaris who apparently put in a MOTM performance. We also still have Frimpong. Obviously Sahin is better than Frimpong/Coquelin/Yennaris, but does it make sense getting him to hamper their development?
I don't think he is. Wilshere is more active and is more likely to drive directly with the ball. Sahin likes to sit deep and play long passes into space.
Sahin is Arteta, would still love to have him. If Mikel goes down or needs a rest we could be in trouble
If you can show me a tape of Sahin defending like Arteta then I'd love to have him as well. I don't think that tape exists.
Because no one uses tapes anymore. Can we all get excited about tomorrow? "Like a new signing" JFW is actually partaking in a match. Can't wait, hope everything goes well.
http://www1.skysports.com/football/...nch-federation-for-Abou-Diaby-s-latest-injury Wenger cracks me up. I love how he blames The Blues for Diaby's injury and for not having anyone else in the midfield who has size and power. Of course, this is after he sold Song....
...and yet if wenger worried that much about diaby getting injured how come he played him for 72 mins against man city AFTER those 2 france matches (while diaby was still apparently fit but wenger seems to know he was tired and prone to being injured)? the man really does talk some hypocritical bs at times.
Took this picture before leaving the apartment this morning. Hope RvP likes the direction Cluj is going: http://t.co/6qOM9y8i
