Alves is probably more technically gifted than Cafu was offensively. But no, Cafu, overall, was the better player.

I think I'd take RC over Marcelo as well. And this is coming from a fan of his since he started his career. I loved his game since his first and only season at Flu. I wasn't ready to cut the cord on his NT career after 7-1 like many were here and in the media.

Neymar has no chance given the player he is going up against. :D

I was going to say the same thing, Alves is more technically gifted than Cafu. Cafu admittedly said he was never that great technically to begin with but he always tried the hardest. People forget how Cafu was questioned at the NT level in Brazil for so many years. He became a legend for Brazilians only after 2002.

True, on the NT, he was. But he was a mainstay for Roma and Milan in the Serie A glory days.

At least it's not banter about how much he is sucking on the NT and how he will never be removed, despite stinking it up for so long ;)

Ref has been excellent this half and Barca players don't like it.

    Another game, another Neymar "incident".

Working the ref is a tactic. Annoying as it may be.

Neymar will never fully learn IMO. He has tamper issues.

I hate trendiness but I hope people copy monacos system. It feels great watching two number 9's up front.

Agreed. During that Mano era Marcelo was the best player. I remeber a friendly at Mexico where he had to win the game single handily.

The game has drifted away from the 2 striker system so it is refreshing to see.

Don't get me wrong, I like Aubameyang's game, but he definitely disappears in the big games.....

Yep. Gave me a good laugh because I had to think about it for a second and I couldn't think of another tactical adjustment that they make.

They have been linked with him before and I'm guessing they think he can replace Iniesta.

A good run, but you got knocked out by the better team. Nothing to be ashamed about.

Sorry @MerlinRM , but I'm hoping for some new blood (compared to recent years) will win this cup. Ideally, I'd like to see a Juve-Monaco final. I think they are the most deserving this year.

I'm just disappointed. Dortmund has not had a good year, and the CL was pretty much our last chance of making something out of this crap season. Ginter and Piszczek pissed away easy goals to Monaco.
