Nothing has changed with arsenal from the looks of this first half.

He's very overrated imo. Not good on the wing and I'd doubt you'd play him as a cf. He's killed my teams in Brazil so maybe I'm biased.. Point stands about him on the wing , I don't see instincts out there.

My memory of the Olympics is hazy, but didn't you guys play him in this midfield shuttler role during that? Anyways, it appears that that rumor died.

At what point does the team not want to be embarrassed in big games ? They don't even commit fouls....

They've taken on the personality of their manager and the culture of their organization; unresponsive, complacent, satisfied with the bare minimum.

Like Pogba or Vidal. I might be completely wrong on that point. I feel like I remember Luan in midfield in a more advanced role ahead of Maia and Walace, behind Neymarr, Jesus, and Gabigol.

He played attacking midfield I think.

So Mkhitaryan has been playing well in the hole and not out on the wing -- exactly like what I told everyone on the Man Utd forums before last year @benni...

Quite a few fans would argue that he's been playing okay, not well. Still early to say.

    He had a good spell.

But as far as Jones is concerned, its always been his health that was the issue.

Better than on the wing, no?

Even when he was on the pitch, Jones was highly criticized. I don't believe health was the only complaint. I'm sure I could go on the United forum and find posts that he was deemed surplus to requirements based on his ability.

Not really. I'm not sure I trust management with big money established signings. Feels like we are much better at identifying high potential youth. But I'll admit I haven't seen much of Yarmolenko to make that judgement.

Really? At Dortmund it appeared the inverse. Mkhitaryan was mediocre in the hole, but he played much better on the wing.

He didn't operate as a traditional winger. All of his assists and goals were a result of him cutting inside and operating in that space. Same goes for Coutinho, he operates in a similar fashion, but isn't a winger.

Correct. The only place he was going to find success in Mourinho's system was in the hole. As long as he's given the liberty to float around to find space, he should be fine.

Mourinho's protypical winger is someone like Willian, who offered the work rate to track back and mark. That's not Mkhi's strong suit. You don't want him deep on the flanks when he receives a ball, either.

    Well, not noticeably, IMO.

What i meant about his health is, he was never able to maintain sny good run of form, because he got injured frequently. Its hard for a young player to develop and gain confidence when you're in amd out of the XI

    Actually look at Mata's role
