Damn Conte left D. Luiz completely off the team for the game vs Man U!! :( And looks like he wasn't needed!

Italy out of the world cup ? To be fair, they got knocked out in the group stage in the past 2 WCs.

    Since 58. Also didn't "qualify" in 1930.

On a more serious note, Italy's absence is a sober reminder of what might have occurred to us had Tite never replaced Dunga. Italy was the first team to follow us as tetra... Ser potência, ter camisa com mística: it means nothing when the whistle is blown and the game begins.

To be fair, they fell in the same group as Spain and probably got the worse possible play-off draw. Although Sweden is fairly average.

Gone are the days were you can simply win games by having better talent on paper.

Stripping Ventura of his citizenship won't do anything other than make one man's life more difficult for an event which wasn't fully his fault (2 consecutive first-round exits in the World Cup were more than enough warning) and provide momentary relief for worked-up emotions over an issue which will only be solved with long-term planning, diligence, humility, persistence, and resolve.

And please do not make any more forecasts - definitely not concerning Brazil anyway.

As focused as I am on England vs. Brazil and after the news of Italy's elimination, I had no idea Argentina had a friendly today. I knew they'd beaten Russia 1-0 in stoppage time, but after being up 2-0, they suffered 4 goals in 29 minutes.

If you have not yet done so, watch the highlights of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Nigerian goals. The 2nd showed awesome passing, with the goal coming in at a difficult angle; the 3rd was a futebol bonito counterattack with several 1-touch passes (minus 1 Nigerian who had 2 touches), and the 4th included a caneta on Javier Mascherano (who in his defense was not the only slow man in defense).

This has nothing to do with our rivalry with them. If anything it showed Nigeria could do some damage and that our neighbors are not as free from danger as they may have thought.

Barca was a laughing stock when they acquired Paulinho especially from Madrid fans.

    Now, it Lord Paulinho laughing.

Walker put Ederson on the spot. What a stupid back pass. Ederson handled it very well luckily.
