although francis isn't the coldest beer in a six pack, he does bring up an interesting point. is there room for another ESPNDeportes channel? i personally don't think so because they already generally cater to the futbol fanaticos but, hell, i won't complain if they decide to add another. however, could it make sense if ESPN adds a futbol channel in english? i don't see that as too far-fetched.
look man, espn is not football 100% programming. they also have tennis, box, some MMA or whatever that fighting thing is called, some baseball, and many football leagues.... i wouldnt mind having a new ESPN 2(ESPN DOS). In freaking directv we have a channel 433 where they supposely are teaching you how to play football, 433 a channel that shouldnt even exist!
claro pe Wong. quien dice que Deportes es puro futbol? yo se que pasan otras webadas como el ESPN gringo donde pasan poker, bull riding y hasta bowling. pero generalmente, Deportes hablan, reportan y pasan mas futbol que la del ESPN gringo. and right there, you bring up something interesting (for once). look at ESPN's new recent design. their home page has Soccer listed after NFL, MLB and NBA and before College Football, NHL and NASCAR. you may not think it's a big deal but in my business, you notice shit like that----and it's huge for the game here in Gringolandia.
Yea and they actually include SOCCER on the 'Bottomline' now. And they include highlights a lot in SportSCenter
They often include soccer goals on their Top 10 plays, too. But a lot of times they're pretty ordinary goals. "Alves with the cross... and Eto'o... heads it in... well there you go." They need to work on their soccer appreciation.
Well, when the leagues were active, they did. But only if they were really good goals. And mostly from EPL. They also seem to have a knack for goalkeeping saves.
ESPN's been covering the Champion's League and the Euro somewhat closely the past few years. Oh, and I've seen Mexi league scores on their ticker. The chance that they'll cover the Libertadores or Copa America anytime in the next, say, 15 years = zero.
you got ADD or something, nephew? maybe you missed it. they did an assload on this little tennis tournament called Wimbledon and went all out. they did a decent job for Confederations Cup (minus the commentators). and yes, they've increased their coverage of footy---especially from England---in the last 15-20 months, like lou indicated.
eh im talking about the top 10 countdown [superflan] mi estimado[/superflan], yea never seen european football matches in there just the typical American sports and plays, but with im reading apparently they do include some ocassionally.
Hi, I'm a soccer collector on dvd and I have more than 15,000 matches beginning in 1953. I also like to watch other leagues I can't record myself. I could offer matches from my list for those who could record in dvd quality matches from the leagues I don't have. Right now I have: Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Dutch, Italy, Sweden, Ireland, Poland, Finland, Denmark, Japan, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Chile, Peru, Guatemala, Honduras, Bolivia, Colombia and probably I'm forgetting some. If you have interest please check my list of matches here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BA2YMR5H and contact me here: soccermemory@hotmail.com
