what country is that ipswich team from? I think our defense will improve in a couple of years, with thomas, izaguirre, and keven hernandez leading the way.

Johnny he is really good, quick and great ball control. All the players like him as he is very humble due to his backgroound, so i thinkipswich got themselves a great player, hopefully up to the premier league nest year huh?

Honduran international Emilio Izaguirre will join the Blues for a trial over the weekend. Izaguirre, a left-sided full-back, wing-back or midfielder, currently plays with Club Deportivo Motagua in his home country.

The 22-year-old will spend 10 days with Town hoping to impress Jim Magilton and his management team.

In 2005 Izaguirre was part of the Honduran U20 team which took part in the FIFA World Youth Championships in Holland. Izaguirre has been capped 20 times by his full national side, scoring one goal.

Izaguirre says he is very much looking forward to showing the Blues what he can do: “My agent told me that I must be with the team on Saturday because on Sunday they travel to Ireland for their pre-season tour. I will be on trial for 10 days and if everything goes well, I will sign a contract.

“I’m very happy with this opportunity. It is a dream come true because I have always wanted to play abroad."

Town are very much in the market for a left-back with the out-of-favour Dan Harding the only left-sided full-back currently at the club.

If he signs, Izaguirre would become Town's first ever Honduran player.

We appealed the decision but that was turned down too.

My brothers girlfriend is friends with the daughter of a former Liverpool player who sits on the panel that decides if a player should get a work permit or not. I'll be telling her to have words with him

The reason Thomas didnt get a work permit seems to be that he has been playing for your Olympic team recently, rather than your full national side, and matches played for your Olympic squad dont count towards the criteria for qualifying for a work permit.

    It sucks :(

are u kidding me, he is the backup for amado and wilson, and imo he should start ove amado and i hate his team btw. So it doesnt make sense, he played for the olympic team for their quals but plays fulltime for the senior team, that is a whole lot of BS.

hendry played against columbia well he started which gives him a cap and a senior team spot so there must be another reason.

To get a work permit for England you need to have played 75% of your nations competitive games over the last 2 years as well as your nation being in the top 75 of the FIFA rankings.

You can argue that the player is an "exceptional talent" and sometimes that works. If it was Manchester United who wanted a work permit for him they would probably get it.
