I don't know about everyone else, but there aren't too many Cauldronintes I would want to see in a bikini.

Cool, thanks - I didn't see that gallery thing. I looked up the www.thetrailskc.com site and Hillcrest Road and saw the old version.

Sucks that it looks like you lost the roof. Everything else looks stellar, though.

I guess that's what I get for being a pure-as-the-driven-snow innocent, but I realize now (too late) that what I said could be taken "a certain way". Y'all should be ashamed. :p

His Crew jersey says "HARDHATMIKE" on the back. Sheesh!

An excellent idea that would be better if done as a blind draw 4v4 co-ed event with mixed Cauldron/Starting 11 teams.

I wouldn't recommend standard bikinis in the sand though. I'm told sand does get everywhere if you are actually playing the best game ever invented.

Whatever date comes to be reality, if the date isn't at the start of the MLS season, KC will again have a situation where the front of the slate is packed with road games. No team in MLS has overcome that handycap as yet. All have suffered.

With that, a third season in CAB wouldn't be the worst thing from a results standpoint. If me, I wouldn't want to open a new venue in mid-season and in last place.

Somehow I get the feeling that if this event took place it wouldn't be a professional event, rules wouldn't matter too much, not too many people would get too terribly dirty, and we would want to see as many girls playing at one time as possible.

If we do what RSL did this year, we wouldn't necessarily have a ton of road games to start the season. Half CAB, half Hillcrest Road in one season wouldn't be that bad of an option. Just make sure the timing is right so the stadium is 100% ready to go (unlike PHP) so we can dazzle the rest of MLS. :)

I doubt that would happen. Salt Lake last season and Chicago in 2006 did not repeat the scheduling of the Galaxy in 2003 or Dallas in 2005.

In fact I think the league took some hard lessons from the slipping opening dates in Dallas in 2005. The reluctance to announce MLS Cup 2009 in Harrison without a better feel for progress on Red Bull Arena, for instance.

The Crew in 1999 had no alternative but to wait, but then the mid-May opening was the earliest of the four mid-season openings.

Given the fact that the bulldozers have yet to start rolling, we really don't know what the construction schedule is.

Something like that. :D I don't think I would want to be a teenager now, but I wouldn't mind turning back the clock about 10 years. Good thing I don't look or feel my true age or I would really be depressed today.

This has nothing to do with the Stadium thread... but, I want to 'second' that emotion. I grew up playing baseball (my dad's love). When my son was five and came home asking to play soccer 'with ALL the other kids'... I said, "Go for it." His grandfather was deeply disappointed. Oh, well. Soccer provided my son and his parents many many good memories... all the way up through college. His own two little girls love watching Daddy play in the Rec league.

I too believe the naysayers are running scared.

My suggestion on opening day at Hillcrest? (thanks for asking)

World Cup 2010 Final. Show it on the JumboTron inside the stadium prior to the Wizards' kickoff. Party like ya mean it.

But Wade, I thought St. Louis was the epicenter of soccer in the US and everybody loved it and played it. :)

On the difference of the pictures, the large squareish building below the stadium has changed. It used to be a more rounded thingy. Could that have been a rotunda getting axed?

We may be analyzing the new rendering a little to much. It's probably just a mock up for the site map.

As someone who does design comps on a regular basis, we are always adding in elements just to "give an idea" of how something might look or where it will go. Even if we know it will look completely different. This probably goes for the stadium, as well as the buildings surrounding it.

Since no actual design renderings (of anything) have been released, they probably don't want to give anything away on the site map too early.
