Re: I Will Crush You - Wizards Stadium Thread v8.4 FINALLY!!! Every time I turn on my computer I end up on NYRB site checking on progress on their beautiful stadium...It's like a sickness I can't help it. Now In a few months I'll be able to check the progress on our very own stadium. Great day to be a Wizards fan!
Re: I Will Crush You - Wizards Stadium Thread v8.4 The man on the streets! Well done, as usual, Thad.
Re: I Will Crush You - Wizards Stadium Thread v8.4 ...And upon winning the battle of Tax Credit Hill, the stout denizens of the Cauldron contemplated Bannister Mall, and how to destroy it forthwith in order to build a brave new fortress. STU: We have the Holy Hand Grenade. KCROVERT: Yes, of course! The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch! 'Tis one of the sacred relics Brother Maynard carries with him! Brother Maynard! Bring up the Holy Hand Grenade! [singing] How does it, uh... how does it work? SPOON: I know not, my liege. KCROVERT: Consult the Book of Armaments! SOMBRA ALA: Armaments, Chapter Two, Verses Nine to Twenty-One. KOT MATROSKIN: "And Saint Atila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, 'Oh, Lord, bless this thy hand grenade that with it thou mayest blow [Bannister Mall] to tiny bits, in thy mercy.' And the Lord did grin, and people did feast upon the lambs, and sloths, and carp, and anchovies, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats..." SOMBRA ALA: Skip a bit, Brother. KOT MATROSKIN: "And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shalt be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thou foe, who being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.'" SOMBRA ALA: Amen. ALL: Amen. KCROVERT: Right! One... two... five! SPOON: Three, sir! KCROVERT: Three! [boom]
Re: I Will Crush You - Wizards Stadium Thread v8.4 For the right price, it could still have a nice ring!
Re: FUNDS APPROVED! - Wizards Stadium Thread v8.4 i love (sarcasm) this part from your blog post: i seem to remember hearing this, or a slight variation, a number of times over the past year or so.
Re: FUNDS APPROVED! - Wizards Stadium Thread v8.4 Can't wait for that first shovelful of dirt to leave the ground . . .
Re: FUNDS APPROVED! - Wizards Stadium Thread v8.4 screw that the first keg to float in the parking lot with bottles of whiskey and bailys from all the car bombs that we did as well
Re: FUNDS APPROVED! - Wizards Stadium Thread v8.4 Finally- I need a date posted on the first match so I can know when I need to report to KC
Re: FUNDS APPROVED! - Wizards Stadium Thread v8.4 KCUR was reporting this morning ~8:30 that OnGoal were now anticipating the Wizards will have to play in CAB through 2010. Sorry to rain on anyone's parade. If this is a mischaracterization I fully expect and hope Greg or Robb would say so within the next few hours.
Re: FUNDS APPROVED! - Wizards Stadium Thread v8.4 Good job, Kansas City. Lamar would have been very proud.
Re: FUNDS APPROVED! - Wizards Stadium Thread v8.4 I know what you mean, I really want this just completely done. Everything I heard did make it sound like everyone thought it was good though. Robert Miserez (Executive director of the finance board) said (not a quote) something along the line that the TIF board was just needing to wrap the paperwork/details up. Do not recall exactly how it was said. But he presented it as not a problem to the Finance board. With that, what Cliff said and what Robb said there, here and elsewhere, I am thinking they are pretty confident.
Re: FUNDS APPROVED! - Wizards Stadium Thread v8.4 could it be that now the funds have to be released from KC. I know they were contingent on state funds, is there some paperwork that has to be filled out, or some kind of notice to do something. Its not like they just had this money sitting off to the side untouched just waiting to fork it over. Somebody still has to write the check and they need an ok from somebody else to do that. Too bad they couldn't just give Lane4 a giant check and a bunch of balloons right after the vote.
Re: FUNDS APPROVED! - Wizards Stadium Thread v8.4 YES! yes yes yes YES! ...sorry for the delay, but I just got home from working for the past 6 hours but now I feel like I could go another 6. This feels as good as Davy's header in the first leg against Columbus.
Re: FUNDS APPROVED! - Wizards Stadium Thread v8.4 Finally!! Now we can move on to other, more important things concerning Hillcrest Road.......... So, how's the rat abatement coming?
Re: I Will Crush You - Wizards Stadium Thread v8.4 Wade and I just ran into Robb, Cliff, and Peter in LA, and they gave us the good news (we were both traveling today). Apparently they (at least Robb and Cliff) were at the meeting in Columbia earlier today before flying out. Woohoo!
