I don't see any positive will this announcement could possibly have for him. it makes him seem delusional at best and a jerk at worst.
you guys know that there are 3 MLS Canadian teams, he doesn't need to go to the States. Impact love their Italians.
This guy still plays? I swore I bumped into him in Jersey a while back. So in two years he’s MLS bound? I didn’t know NYRB II were promoted.
I'm surprised he hasn't moved to China to setup a last payday. He's done pretty well considering the injuries of late. Probably 1 of the few Italian goalscorers who could make it RAIN outside of Serie A.
Rossi is a free agent come this summer, unless a contract option is exercised for next year (not sure if it's up to Genoa or the player). I expect him to be in MLS soon enough. I'm sure many teams would take a chance on him at the right price, including Philly and DC, which would keep him close to home in New Jersey.
This article says his agent wants 400,000 euros/year (plus bonuses), which is about 467,000 US dollars. I'm betting MLS would be willing to offer him that much, which is below a DP salary. https://translate.google.com/transl...sato-l-alternativa-al-genoa-97982&prev=search
Gotta ponder what might have been if not for his injuries. Scored same amount of goals for Italy as Ciro Immobile. Always seemed quite underrated compared to other Italian strikers.
That assumes the kinds of people who post that sort of abuse present themselves in real life to begin with . . .
@TheFalseNine Our famed resident Brute has not played for Celta in many moons. I humbly submit: Full of Bologna: Giuseppe Rossi back in Serie A.
Rossi officially dropped by Genoa, may end up in Parma, newly promoted from Serie B (and where Rossi trained as a youth from age 13 to 17). Can Parma really pay him more than MLS? If so, that's absurd. https://translate.google.com/transl...suggestione-parma-per-lattaccante&prev=search
They got pretty rich owners apparently. Its possible. Especially if they're trying to be a big club again. Theyre gonna go for it. I think a smart move for him, a lot of people are gonna want to be part of it.
I was wondering about that. I just thought you really liked bologna. If he does end up signing with Parma, surely we can come up with a good cheese-related pun.
