    Rio Ferdinand once went 28 games without committing a foul, so I respectfully disagree.

    Getting cards due to fouling is attributed to bad positioning either by the player booked or a player covering for someone out of position. It is a testament to good play to not get cards. Whacking anybody just to get a card is not really wise. Especially if yr a central defender in the box. Bad place to accumulate cards. Way to go, Tim.

    doesn't seem to have negatively impacted him, or his season.

    Defender with few cards + relegation = bad.

    Defender with few cards + promotion = good.

    Ream = good*.

    Goes with the Paolo Maldini quote, "if I have to make a tackle, then I already have made a mistake,". Ideally, CB's are low drama, cutting out passes or taking away good passing options instead of going in for tackles where the outcome is less certain.

    Lyon subbed in several starters in the second half and scored four goals in the last half hour. Ream was replaced at the 75' mark. Fulham needs to shore up their defense or their return to the Premier will be a short one.

    I always wondered who (or how they) select(s) the pre-season friendlies? Like who they are up against?

    How is the Alfie Mawson pick-up supposed to affect our man Tim?

    It will affect him very well by giving him an experienced partner in central defense.

    Yeah Mawson will play RCB, and Ream likely keeps his job at LCB.

    I'd say Mawson's arrival makes Ream's place more, rather than less secure. Mawson is a major upgrade on the other CBs at Fulham, but since Ream is comfortable with the ball on his left foot and the other CBss are right-footed, he'll be starting at LCB in a stronger CB pairing. If CB pairings work, coaches outside the CL candidates are generally loath to tinker with them, preferring to add back-ups rather than potential alternatives.

    FWIW, the Guardian's pre-season profile for Fulham singled out Ream for mention, noting that the " ball-playing American centre-back Tim Ream" beat out teen prodigy Sessegnon in the fans' vote for Player of the Season.

    Maybe, but Chambers has played RB a lot for Arsenal, as well as at DM and even RM (Arsenal started him in that position agianst Koln in the Europa League).

    I'd say he's been added for his versatility and for RB: of their RBs, Denis Odoi played at CB exclusively from November, while Cyrus Christie is a good Championship RB who looked nothing like EPL quality in Ireland's World Cup qualification. Then again, nobody looked EPL quality for Ireland in qualification:(:(:(
