Went the distance in a 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday. He'll face Danny Williams and Reading in the promotion playoff semifinal, guaranteeing that one USMNT player will be in the final.

We shall root for Fulham over Reading. Williams is out of contract at the end of the season and might well be able to play first division football in England or Germany anyway. Reading getting promoted also greatly reduces the chance of Novakovich getting the opportunity he finally should. He just signed.

Whereas if Fulham get promoted you figure Ream will at least be the 3rd cb/utility player on an EPL side. Then they have Fossey storming through their youth side with plenty of upside to play in the EPL. De La Torre has been on the cusp for a while now, although that puts him in a similar boat as Novakovich with Reading.

The other center back, Kalas, committed a handball in the box for which Reading earned the clinching PK.

how would you guys rate Ream's time in England compared to a say Bocanegra or Cameron or Gooch? With regard to their centerback performances/styles.

tough to compare with most of Ream's success coming in the 2nd division. Gooch had little to no success in England. Boca and Cameron were and are very successful in their personal careers in the EPL even if their teams don't or didn't have much to show for it. Ream is at his level here.

but was Boca really respected/highly regarded during his time at Fulham?

I mean Ream seems at least good quality for the Championship. I'd figure Boca could have achieved that as well. And internationally speaking, Boca is much higher rated then Ream. Boca did spend a few years in Ligue 1 as a starting CB.

Boca played left back, left center back in a three man line and centre back.

He had a knack for attacking at set pieces. He developed his game considerably at Fulham.

so would you rate him? I recall Hodgson came on board in jan 08 and benched him for Hangeland (who came from playing in Denmark).

Boca was versatile,if he lost his spot on the middle,he went outside. He even played DM a couple times.
I think he's deffo beyond Ream, and comparable to Cameron.

I mean he was a regular, and 100 percent did captain the team on occasion. I think there was one year where he actually led the club (or was leading most of the year) in goals.

Take it all with a grain of salt because, they weren't very good.

Fulham finishing spot in the Premier League while Boca was there. he had 5 goals in 06/07 although McBride ended up leading the team with 9. (he almost equaled Dempsey's goals for 07/08 when he led the team with 6).
