Well, hope that was a selection point for giving him that clerk position. Btw. Excelsior Rotterdam, my/our Alma Mater doorstep club relegated
Jamaican migrant workers in the second half of the 19th century were an important part of the workforce as the relatively sparsely populated Carribean coastal region was developed. It started with the fishing, followed by the starting of coffee plantations in the 1860s. Not too many blacks in the plantations themselves, but the coffee was grown on the Pacific coast and the buyers were in Europe, so ports and railroads to connect the ports to the plantation regions had to be built and Jamaicans were brought in to do the navvying for those. Similar to the Irish in Britain and the Chinese in the US. Some stayed on and settled.
Spotted ... at Reading training? What a surprise!!! https://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/...ovakovich-obita-trialist-five-things-16517224
They've had 11 players return from loans, among them Sam Smith, a forward who flopped bad in League One, and Ben House, who didn't impress in League Two. So with Oliveira returning to Norwich and Sam Baldock being in his last legs, that #4 forward spot may open for Nova, unless he shows poorly and they are to get someone else on loan.
Reading plays a 4-3-3 with the top side spots taken by forwards, not wingers. So he could easily be first off-the-bench guy when in need of a goal.
Reading is a bad championship team. Their level is below high level MLS play (please forgive me mods). Nova should be able be a starter on this sort of team.
Just looked at their roster and had some really weird flashbacks. One of Novakovich's competitors at center forward? Danny Loader. He used to play against our U17s all the time. See how many other players you can recognize, on both teams, from this U17 match where Loader scores and draws a penalty against us:
so can a loaned player refuse to come home? how much say would a player like nova have in where he plays? I have the feeling he couldn't just decide to stay in the Netherlands as a previous poster suggested.
Refusing to come back is equivalent to breach of contract on his part, which can culminate in him being suspended by the English FA and thereby UEFA. He won't be able to play at any level above rec league. It never comes to that. If the player is so determined to to stay in another country and pushes it to deadline day, the owning club will cave in terms of him coming back, though they'll try to recoup that in loan fees, % of wages picked up by the borrowing club and any future transfer fees.
Former team mate at Telstar who last season played for relegated Excelsior Rotterdam, Jerdy Schouten, signs for Bologna. So it is possible to move in two seasons from a 2nd tier Dutch league via an Eredivisie relegation club into the Serie A. A couple of Yank agents clearly arenot pulling the right strings.

29’ GOAL! Great play from #Royals as Novakovich finds himself with space in the box, cuts in to give Olise an easy finish bottom corner #REAvSOU 1-0— Reading FC (@ReadingFC) July 6, 2019 Picks up the assist and has several dangerous moments before rotating out at the end of the first half.
I have a sneaky feeling that Nova is going to do quite well in the Championship and be a key figure for Reading. He comes across as a guy that that thrives on wanting to prove something.
Jaap Stam is trying to get Reading's midfielder Liam Kelly to Feyenoord. When JS was there the Irishman was a lock in player. JS also was the one who specifically sent Nova to the Netherlands to profit from the playing time and deelopment. Wonder if he might still have Nova in the back of his head.
34’ GOAL READING | An awful back-pass from Gibraltar United gifted Novakovich with the goal- slipped past the goalkeeper #ReadingFC 2-0— Reading FC (@ReadingFC) July 10, 2019 Scored and played the first half of a friendly against Gibraltar United.
