That's nice and all, but what has it got to do with Theo?

Are you stupid ? It's obvious. Theo is french, he used his connections from the other side of Madrid to start Benzema over James.

It was actually the best thread title suggestion.

"James made 111 appearances for Real, scoring 36 goals and producing 41 assists.

Yet Benzema is still here.... - The Theo Hernandez Thread".

Very impressed with his preseason. Although, wish we'd seen if he could play on the right or even in the middle. He has a big frame and I could see him following in Ramos' footsteps. Maybe Zidane didn't want to try too many things on a 19 yo at a new club, better to get him started on the right foot. Next year perhaps

Kind of surprised not much was said about his two games so far. He was pretty bad against Levante, dont think he created a single chance at all despite spending a lot of time up front.

He got shit on in the game thread for having more successful passes to their keeper than our own players.

Am a little worried, I see a lot of Danilo in him so far.

His crossing is atrocious. Really needs to improve on that.

I wasn't bothered by Theo this weekend the athleticism is there just needs minutes with his teammates to gel. Many of the balls Marcelo played him were a bit shorter than ideal do he didn't have as much space as you'd like.

Work rate is there, needs to execute. He gets the next two games to get comfortable.

The biggest team that he got a cap for was Alaves. Chill. He isn't even 20 yet(soon). He was bought to compete with Marcelo in the future. I trust that his nerves will ease and he'll fit in much better. Keep in mind that he was playing with Marcelo on the left side, something which is likely to never happen again.

Early days yet but I still haven't really seen anything other than speed, for me he has the whole season to show what he can do, one or two games just isn't enough to judge IMO

People thought a LB should be our #1 priority for years after Marcelo first arrived. 99% of teenagers are going to require some patience.

Absolutely. LB is one of those positions in which he have no hurry to find an heir. Theo has lots of time. He just has to keep improving. You will remember when Marcelo joined and one of the more frequent comments were..... ohh he doesn't have the pace of RC, how will he survive.

damn he is good, I like him already. Defensively so good with that beast body of his, talent clearly there, just needs some more experience. Just 19, wow.

Great game today. Defensively good and does well going forward. Just needs to improve his crossing which will come with time.

Phenomenal game and a typical Real Madrid player. Lots of heart and passion. Insanely fast and strong. Let's hope he can continue like this!

Great game by him. I thought he looked exhausted by the 70th minute.

    Let's not forget that he's just 19...

He seems overly eager to impress,he's running himself into the ground, that's probably why.

He is more powerful on a straight then Mercedes F1 engine. Very physical but at the same time very entertaining player to watch.

He just needs to pick his moments and not play so aggressively all the time because he'll spend more time in the rehab center then on a football pitch. He's still very young so there's more then enough time for him to iron it out and become a spectacular player. That part is down to his footballing IQ and more importantly proper guidance which he won't be lacking in Real Madrid.
