Glad we've setup the LB position for the future. And it really sounds like Theo wanted to play for Madrid so even better. Good stuff.
Love the player, often touted as one of the best teenagers in football Bit worried about his character
its weird how accepting the atletico board were of this, but i dont see why a player thats wants to move across town to a team that wants him is a bad idea, its not like hes part of atletico's history or anything like aguero, de gea and falcao were
I've said this a couple times already, but I think he transitions to CB. I think he will be our new Ramos.
hes too good a dribbler to become a CB, ramos was never the best going forward (on the wing i mean, hes a better striker than most STs out there )
Others have likened him to Bale. Whatever his position I wish him the best. It's nice to see us adding potential world beaters behind already world class players.
We paid his buyout clause (a little more than this buyout clause actually), they really don't have a say in the matter, there is literally nothing they can do.
This matters to me. In the official Atleti statement they say that he rejected their contract offers multiple times as well as rejecting other European clubs and made it clear his desire to play for Madrid. He's obviously a great talent who has the potential to be world class in the future. Another young, immensely talented player added to the club. Awesome piece of business by Florentino. The fact that we scooped him up from Atleti makes it 100 times sweeter.
Actually they do have a say because we didn't pay the buyout. We negotiated to pay more than the buyout to incentives atleti to go along with the transfer. They could have been stubborn and made him wait till his contract was completed.
I don't get this, if we paid his buyout or more, the only thing they can do is make it a hostile transfer and make us pay more essentially, no?
Marcos welcoming Theo: No te despegas ni con agua caliente, @theo3_theo . 😉😂¡Bienvenido, amigo! https://t.co/yc1Nbej12M— Marcos Llorente (@marcosllorente) July 5, 2017 Sounds like they're all excited to contribute here.
I don't get it. Why did we pay more for Atletico to go along? If we just straight up paid the buyout, Atletico can't do shit. Or am i missing something? It seems like we paid 6 million over the release clause just so we don't hurt Atletico's feelings. Wow that's some expensive feelings. Almost as expensives as Ronaldos
I think it has to do with the fact that if we pay the buyout clause, we pay full tax on that amount while if the transaction is considered a transfer fee to Atletico then we pay less tax or something. We ended up paying a little over the buyout as an incentive for Atletico to consider it a conventional transfer, and we save on a portion of the tax.
They are saying 28 ME plus 2 variables. But it's AS with their own agenda. They proclaimed we sold Danilo for 20 ME two days ago while Sky Italia claims we haven't even accepted Juve's 25 ME bid. Others have said 26 ME in three installments for Theo. https://futbol.as.com/futbol/2017/07/05/primera/1499265884_689391.html
