Spain-England 1145 hrs PST in Alicante (originally scheduled at the Bernabeu but VDB and the RFEF did not want Pique's feelings to be hurt so they moved it). Not on TV here in the US (that means I will not lose 2 hours of my life watching the meaningless match).

Aupa Espanha y La Furia Roja!

Personally I think that is disgraceful by the fans.

Apparently this is what Del Bosque will most likely start with

Casillas, Piqué, Bartra, Jordi Alba, Gaspar, Busquets, Iniesta, Cesc Fábregas, Thiago Alcántara, Diego Costa y Alcácer.

with Cesc and Costa in there, we basically will be playing with 9 players.

Cesc more often than not performs well for Spain, he was very good in their last 2 games. But Costa is another issue though i'ld admit.
And i think it's Koke in place of Alcacer, which actually makes for a weird formation imo.

I'll be watching France - Germany as well as this game simultaneously

Today for a change am listening via the BBC since they are covering this match and allowing non-UK IP addresses to listen to the match. Interesting take listening to La Furia Roja in English. At least on this feed you know when Pique touches the ball because of the pitos which can be heard rather clearly!

Aupa Espanha y La Furia Roja!

    25 Minutes 0-0

Spain doing a lot of pressing deep in the England side of the pitch causing some turnovers in the England side.

Cazorla in for Thiago who suffered some type of minor injury.

Hopefully it is just really minor, Thiago had been playing well as of late.

Both teams have kept clean sheets for sometime now so it was obvious that this was going to be a defensive match with few if any chances to score.

If you have to go a goal down, it might as well be to a goal like that.
