The young guys are getting their feet wet and are getting better each game. I know the NT isn't a place to develop the guys (the clubs should) but I like seeing the new guys improving every game whenever they play for Mexico.
I thought Alvarado had another bad game. Did draw some fouls early on but I don’t remember seeing anything else from him.
Weirdly Aguirre wasn't bad playing as a holding mid and once they paired him up with a competent player like Guzman in the second half they controlled Costa Rica.
I still think that dueñas and vanranking were the worst players on the field but once Dueñas was moved to the right back he started playing better.
Dueñas es un mil usos. I still think he’s one of those good Liga MX players that just don’t cut it with the NT but i don’t mind having him around as a utility player. Basically what Cameron was for the US but different positions.
The first half begins yet again with another makeshift lineup, including 4 players who didn't even start for their clubs last week. No cohesion, no chemistry. If this game was about incorporating youth, then why did Ferreti once again insert one of his own players who has no future with the squad and essentially taking the place of a more deserving younger player? Masterclass strike from Guzmán who has been showing promise in Pachuca, and not just by scoring a few lucky goals this time. He's been creating goal scoring opportunities, effectively showing another dimension to his game. Good stuff. Henry Martin looks like a beast. Statistically, he's the most standout Mexican league striker this season. Definitely one to keep an eye on. Nice to see Tecatito put in some work. He was completely wasted under Osorio. Gudiño makes his debut but rarely had to work. Lajud was shaky but he's probably been the best Mexican GK of the last few years, statistically speaking. Hope they continue give him opportunities. That old, creepy ph@ggot Bracamontes accidentally lusted over the idea of a 15 year old Maribel Guardia. Decent win, but CR threw in the towel early. I'm bracing myself for absolute humiliation in South America. Ferreti is hopelessly out of touch and doesn't seem to take these games seriously on top of that.
