Yes, I'm sure. Norway haven't played a home match for a year (since beating Netherlands in the WCQ). This friendly will be taken seriously. It was reported on Friday that 8000 tickets to the game had been sold so far.

big game today between Norway & England. Perhpas the most interesting part of it is Lioness coach, Phil Neville. Whether using out dated tactics, switching players out of positon or making unruly comments, the English fans seem to hate him(got to go with what's said on an popular English lezie forum since we apparently have no English woso fans on BS)
So shocking surprise Neville is now considered the frontrunner for Ellis's job

I can't imagine why any coach of a top national team would consider quitting to coach a rival squad-- such as Neville opting to coach the U.S. It would be so disloyal to your home country and team, for starters, and if I'm Neville I'd want more than anything to beat the U.S. with my very talented team, not abandon my team. I'm not even sure that Neville is a top coach. I think he manages the players and the squad very well, but some have questioned his tactical acumen. Don't know--but I hope he sticks with England. He should. I also think it is very arrogant of the USSF to even approach Neville, if they have done so. It takes hutzpah, as if I were in Neville's position I wouldn't consider coaching the U.S. for a minute. I'd be flattered for a minute, I suppose, but I'd never seriously consider it.

I highly doubt that report... It says "sources within the US" (not even with USSF, just the US) but admit that there's been no contact. There's the fact that no one else anywhere is confirming that there's interest, especially considering that the new USWNT GM has publicly stated four other candidates (three NWSL, one NCAA). Finally Grant Wahl (the top US Soccer journo) responded to the Mail's Tweet saying that, according to all of his contacts, Neville isn't even on the radar. Seems like absolute bunk to me.

here's the full England vs Norway game/pretty much shows what a horrid coach Neville is; he insists on using a top fwd like Rachel Daly back to FB(imagine sending Alex Morgan back to defense, lol). Sends what is considered the best right back in the world, Lucy Bronze, into mid/playmaker. Dunno how many times I've ranted against both CB' starters, Houghton & Bronze, but once again they ridiculously give up a goal(see the 2nd NOR goal). Despite having fast enough players & being the away team, Neillve can't produce a single notable counter/then the style Neville employs oviously lacking variety & brdt suited to get the ball to the lone striker(Jody Talyor)
Norway; their attractive GK, 39 years old(but looks like 15 years younger) finally retiring. gets a standing ovation near the end

    A-ha, the old bait-and-click

    Technically 3-3 is a "tie"...

I think England's been in preseason, which might affect things a little. Also, that team nearly reached the World Cup final in July in the World Cup, does nobody remember?

    Cyprus 1 - 5 Poland
    (Solomou 68' - Balcerzak 31', Kamczyk 36', Grabowska 58', Grec 62', Kaletka 72')

Easy win for White-and-Red's (team B especially in 1st half) against rather weak opponents. Coach Stępiński said aftermatch that purpose of this game was to verify and master elements of offensive play from training sessions and to prepare the team to play against weaker oponents ahead of Poland's EURO qualification matches vs. Azerbaijan and Moldova.

In 4 days in Suzuki Arena - Kielce, Polish team will be hosts to Brazil in a first meeting between the two teams (at senior level). Clash against one of the World top sides is to prepare Poland against Spain - now an opening match of EURO campaign for White-and-Red's in November. (Last month Poland's would be opener against Czechia was cancelled due to mass sickness of Czech players - game was moved to 2020).

here's a stream from today's Canada vs Japan game, but no commentary along with no subtitles for time & scoreline

as some of you know, with their Danish coach at tow, Canada decided to forego the direct/in your face soccer of their southern neighbors for the more gentlemanly(or in this case, womenly) ala central Europe version of passing & passing & passing and then, lets do it again(passing & passing & passing)

after watching this new disaster all I can say to them, come back, come back to the dark side!

Well, I've only seen the highlights of the England-Brazil match, but England could have won the match--and maybe even comfortably--had they taken their chances. Parris and Mead both botched what should have been easy goals in the first half, and then they had a goal called back on an offsides, and there were other chances. Also, Debhina is a fantastic player but her second goal looked lucky as I think it was deflected and then blooped over the England keeper's head. I'll have to check out the stats but it looked like a game where England played more than well enough to win but, this being soccer, it didn't.

    here's the full game replay

Pia's usually not an possession minded coach, rather more like , hold back/let the other side fiddle with the ball while bringing their defense up --- & only then counter & strike, and yep, Neville is more than happy to oblige & walk into the trap.

winless in their last 5 games, England's been in a bit of a rut. Other than Neville's terrible coaching, it's a hard to put a finger on it, but got the feeling that other than Bronze, it's a lack of top quality players/or at least, in every position

A lot of negativity from fans and media surrounding England’s displays since the WC. Phil Neville keeps saying the displays have been outstanding when they quite obviously have not been. He’s just accused a reporter in the after match press conference of ‘wanting to get him sacked’. Tetchy atmosphere.

He keeps picking players out of position and has an over reliance on the older players regardless of performance. It’s not looking good to say the least.

you know how to pick em! possibly the most exciting game of yesterday's record Euro qualifiers. Ireland's got a solid back line that includes Mcabe & Quinn(both defensive stars in the English League & of course. the world's best throw in specialist in Campbell. Plus mid, O'Sullivan usualy gets called. "the best player on the team" by her NC Courage coach. Their real baptism of fire will come vs Germany(also in the same Euro qualfier group) as the Germans are gpal wise, 33-0 in just 4 games! Highlights from IRE/UKR

lately England seems slow in transition as most of their attack seems hell bent on feeding their lone striker, even though the servers(mainly Parris & Mead) are so much more talented then their eventual target(these days Taylor) & then the classic irony at the back; Hougton & Bright bring more offensive panache with their excellent free kicks & header skills, but as the usual starting CB's, stink at defence!

luckily for Neville, Mead saved his ass vs Portugal, but if he ever gets sacked, the name I usal see as a possible replacement is Casey Stoney, but would it make a difference? Casey's the current Man U coach. With all the money afforded to her by that famed club, she managed to loose her star player(Greenwood). Her one supposedly big recruit(will keep her name silent as she's a fav among BS posters) the one Dutch. was called "the turnover machine" by a critical reviewer of her WC performance.

at least Casey might bring on Leah Dalton(an American style winger who plays at Man U) along with hoping that she finally starts Rachel Daly(the other American style player) upfront, but then it would mean replacing Mead & Parris(two of England's best players)

    highlights of ENG/POR

this was the only live game shown on all of youtube yesterday as the UEFA police was out in full force for Euro qualifiers. Unfortunately it showed why Poland will remain a 2nd tier team. They seemed so easily intimated by an suqad that's not even rakned in the top 10, to a point that their 5-4-1 straight lines could be called 'bunker' at this, their homefield. The long balls to Pajor were quickly thwarted(as it makes it so much easier for defenders to mark up or offside trap a singular attacker). & when Pajor or another Pole did get a shot off, they definitely winced by taking way too long shots instead of trying to penetrate more. But then it can be hard to play vs a team that knows every dirty trick in the book, epsecially the one player that apparerntly named after the Atlanta mass transit system, lol)
