Even if it were true that we have average players, the argument that therefore we shouldn’t really care about the coach is absurd. I personally think MX has a pretty decent main squad moving forward, of which very few of these players are going to be a part of at least for now. We do have some major gaps in defensive mid and right back though.

When is the last time a player left for Europe due to youth NT performances though? Unless you want to count Toulon and 2012 Olympics, these tournaments haven’t proven to be any better a platform for scouting than club activity.
Güémez, Zaldivar, and Chaka are there because of how scarce the coverage is for their positions though. We should definitely just focus on Vega for striker. He has similar stats but better quality goals than Zaldivar and Pulido. But RB and Defensive mid really is a head scratcher.
